Abstract:
The invention relates to the use, as a dispersant and/or a grinding aid agent for pigments and/or mineral fillers in aqueous suspension, of a water soluble polymer with a controlled structure obtained by a controlled free radical polymerization process putting into practice a particular alkoxyamine as a polymerization initiator.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel sulphur compounds, to the production thereof by a method carried out in an aqueous medium and the use thereof in the form of transfer agents in a method for controlled radical polymerisation of acrylic acid and/or acrylic acid with water-soluble monomers in water. The thus obtained polymers are usable in the form of dispersing agents or grinding aid agents and/or aid agents for combined grinding of mineral materials in an aqueous suspension and in the form of dispersing agents directly incorporated into aqueous formulations containing mineral materials.
Abstract:
The use, for the manufacture of paper coating colors, of a copolymer water-soluble in a neutral or alkaline medium as an agent for simultaneously adjusting the water retention of the coating colors and the Brookfield viscosity of the said coating colors; a water-retention agent comprising the copolymer; and coating colors and the coated paper and cardboard thus obtained.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to new alkali swellable thickening emulsions, free of surfactants and solvents other than water: as a result, all drawbacks related to the use of solvents, or to the formation of foam in the case of surfactants, are avoided. These new emulsions contain a certain quantity of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (or AMPS, CAS #: 40623-75-4). They have proven effective at thickening aqueous mediums, particularly water-based paints, paper coatings, aqueous suspensions of mineral materials, detergents, cosmetic formulations, or formulations containing a hydraulic binder.
Abstract:
The present disclosure describes methods for improving the auto-dispersant characteristic in water of mineral substances, such methods involving dry-grinding of a mineral substance in the presence of a formulation. In some embodiments the formulation includes glycerol and at least one agent in aqueous or pure form. In other embodiments the formulation includes an aqueous polyglycerol.
Abstract:
Utilisation of (meth)acrylic comb copolymers with side chains of the hydroxy and alkoxy polyalkylene glycol type in which are present both ethylene oxide and propylene oxide links. These copolymers give a styling effect and an elimination of rinsing. The invention also relates to a cosmetic formulation containing such structures as well as a hair treatment process based on this formulation.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to improving the workability of an aqueous formulation with a hydraulic binder base using a combination between at least one comb-branched copolymer having a (meth)acrylic skeleton, onto which are grafted side-chains terminated by a hydrophilic group, and at least one comb-branched copolymer having a (meth)acrylic skeleton, onto which are grafted side-chains terminated by a hydrophobic group.
Abstract:
The present invention provides weakly ionic polymeric additives that, when used in aqueous suspensions of commercial mineral fillers (dispersed with an anionic polymer), enable the introduction of organic or mineral salts in significant quantities without causing a destabilization of the medium. The suspension are useful in the formulation of a paper coating color designed for an application of the ink-jet type.
Abstract:
New associative polyurethanes which are manufactured with cardanol which is potentially oxyethylated. Use of these polyurethanes as thickening agents for aqueous formulations.
