摘要： An apparatus is disclosed for storing and dispensing pen needles for an injection device, including a case having dispensing and storage ends for dispensing and storing a plurality of pen needles and a plurality of needle cover units, each pen needle having a patient end and a hub for connection to the injection device, and each needle cover unit having a needle-covering portion for covering a patient end and a hub-covering portion for covering a hub. A needle-covering portion covering the needle of one pen needle is coupled with a hub-covering portion covering a hub of another pen needle. Prior to use, a hub-covering portion covering the hub of a pen needle is exposed to an outside at the dispensing end of the case, and subsequent to use, the pen needle is stored in the storage end of the case.

摘要： A safety catheter includes a catheter hub, a catheter tube, a needle hub, a needle cannula having a tip, and a tip protector. The tip protector includes an outer member having a flexible tab configured to releasably engage with the catheter hub and release therefrom upon inward flexing of the tab. An inner member is positioned entirely within the outer member and has a portion that impedes inward flexing of the tab when disposed adjacent the tab. The inner member is axially shiftable relative to the outer member between a first position wherein the needle tip is distal of the tip protector and the inner member portion is disposed adjacent the tab to impede release from the catheter hub, and a second position wherein the tip is within the outer member and the inner member portion is no longer adjacent the tab and no longer impedes release from the catheter hub.

摘要： An intradermal delivery method for use in intradermally injecting substances into the skin of an animal includes a needle cannula supported by a hub portion that is attachable to a prefillable container. A limiter portion surrounds the needle cannula and extends away from the hub portion toward a forward tip of the needle cannula. The limiter portion includes a skin engaging surface extending in a plane generally perpendicular to an axis of the needle cannula. The skin engaging surface is received against skin of an animal to administer an intradermal injection. The forward tip extends beyond the skin engaging surface a distance that enables penetration of the needle cannula into the dermis layer of the skin of the animal enabling injection of the substance into the dermis layer of the animal. The device includes enclosure means that is moveable for concealing the needle cannula after the injection has been administered.

摘要： A retractable safety syringe is provided wherein a retraction force retracts a needle and a needle holder into a syringe body when a piston engages the needle holder. The engagement between the piston and the needle holder may be fluid activated such that engagement between the piston and needle holder exists only when fluid is in a variable fluid chamber. In particular, surface tension from the fluid on an annular suction groove or pocket and a textured top surface of the needle holder creates a suction force applied to the needle holder. The retraction force acts on the needle holder via the suction force to retract the needle holder and needle into the syringe body.
