The device includes a liquid fuel fired combustion chamber, a de-Laval section, a powder injector block with powder injectors and a barrel all arranged around and along an axis. The powder injector block includes at least four powder injectors arranged in an equal circumferential distance around the axis and an exchangeable hot gas section insert inside the powder injector block designed as a cylindrical bush with at least four openings, the openings being arranged in an equal circumferential distance around the axis in the cylinder, wherein the bush is fixed by the at least four powder injectors extending through said openings.
Abstract:
A thermal sprayer system includes an injector conduit in communication with an injector and a first valve for selectively directing a coating fluid through the injector conduit. A flush fluid conduit is in communication with the injector conduit for directing a flush fluid through the injector conduit. A pressurized air conduit is in communication with the injector conduit for directing a pressurized fluid through the injector conduit.
Abstract:
A thermal spray combustion gun including a burner assembly, a combustion chamber assembly, a middle gun body, and a spring. The spring is structured and arranged to provide a spring force that maintains a first metal-to-metal seal between the burner assembly and the combustion chamber assembly, and maintains a second metal-to-metal seal between the combustion chamber assembly and the middle gun body.
Abstract:
A coat forming apparatus 100 includes a droplet supply unit 110 and an active species supply unit 120. The droplet supply unit 110 is adapted to spray or drop a droplet for coat forming toward an object 116. The active species supply unit 120 is adapted to supply an active species to be brought into contact with the droplet moving from the droplet supply unit 110 toward the object 116. The coating is formed on a surface of the object 116 by the droplet that has been brought into contact with the active species.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an elongate packing for the packing of a granular substance, in particular for the packing of a spray powder for the thermal coating of a surface of a workpiece. In accordance with the invention, the elongate packing includes a plurality of individual packing pockets of presettable size, with a meterable quantity of the granular substance being packed closed with respect to an outer environment in the individual packing pocket. The invention further relates to a method for the loading of a treatment apparatus with a granular substance to a treatment apparatus for the use of an elongate packing, to a method for the manufacture of an elongate packing and to a packing apparatus.
Abstract:
There are provided a thermal spraying method and a thermal spraying apparatus therefore, in which a gas shroud is disposed in an HVOF thermal spraying gun barrel, the velocity of metallic particles is energized and accelerated with respect to the metallic particle to be thermally sprayed from the gun, and inert gas is supplied into the space defined inside of the shroud through a circumferential slit formed in such a manner as to shield the metallic particles from the atmosphere so as to collide with the surface of a base member, thereby forming a thermally sprayed dense film having a small oxygen content without overheating the base plate by an HVOF method.
Abstract:
A thermal spray apparatus is provided for thermal spraying a coating onto a substrate. The apparatus include a heating module for providing a stream of heated gas. The heating module is coupled to a forming module for controlling pressure and velocity characteristics of the stream of heated gas generated by the heating module. The thermal spray apparatus further includes a barrel capable of directing the stream of heated gas from the forming module. A powder injection module may be provided for introducing powder material into the stream of heated gas.
Abstract:
Thermal spray processing and cold spray processing are utilized to manufacture porous starting materials (such as tube stock, wire and substrate sheets) from biocompatible metals, metal alloys, ceramics and polymers that may be further processed into porous medical devices, such as stents. The spray processes are also used to form porous coatings on consolidated biocompatible medical devices. The porous substrates and coatings may be used as a reservoir to hold a drug or therapeutic agent for elution in the body. The spray-formed porous substrates and coatings may be functionally graded to allow direct control of drug elution without an additional polymer topcoat. The spray processes are also used to apply the drug or agent to the porous substrate or coating when drug or agent is robust enough to withstand the temperatures and velocities of the spray process with minimal degradation.
