According to the invention, the electrode wire (1) for electric discharge machining comprises a metal core (2), in one or more layers of metal or metal alloy. On the metal core (2), a coating (3) having an alloy different from that of the metal core (2) contains more than 50 wt % zinc. The coating (3) comprises copper-zinc alloy (3a) of fractured γ phase, and covers the majority of the metal core (2). The coating (3) contains covered pores (5a, 5b, 5c, 5d, 5) larger than 2 μm.
Abstract:
A plumbing fixture having a multi-color appearance includes a first portion including a first finish having a first appearance and a second portion including a second portion having a second appearance that differs from the first appearance. The plumbing fixture further includes a transition region between the first portion and the second portion, wherein the appearance of the third region is graduated from the first appearance to the second appearance between a first end of the transition region adjacent the first portion and a second end of the transition region adjacent the second portion. The plumbing fixture has an ombré appearance as a result of the graduated transition between the first portion and the second portion.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of producing an electrical contact element, in which a multilayer structure is formed by applying a diffusion barrier layer to a base material and at least one metallic layer made of a metal to the diffusion barrier layer, at least one layer formed of tin being applied as the metallic layer.
Abstract:
Turbine engine components are provided that have a repaired thermal barrier coating, along with their methods of formation and repair. The turbine engine component includes a thermal barrier coating on a first portion of a surface of a substrate; a repaired thermal barrier coating on a second portion of the surface of the substrate; and a ceramic coat on the outer bond coat. The thermal barrier coating includes an inner bonding layer and a first ceramic layer, with the inner bonding layer being positioned between the substrate and the first ceramic layer. The repaired thermal barrier coating generally includes an inner bond coat on the surface of the substrate and an outer bond coat on the inner bond coat. The inner bond coat is formed from a cobalt-containing material, while the outer bond coat is substantially free from cobalt.
Abstract:
A color filter substrate including a base substrate, a color layer on the base substrate, a conductive layer on the color layer, and a grain compensation layer between the color layer and the conductive layer. The grain compensation layer includes zinc oxide and a metal oxide other than zinc oxide. A content of the metal oxide is lower than that of the zinc oxide in the grain compensation layer. The grain compensation layer increases the grain size of the conductive layer.
Abstract:
A process for fabricating a steel sheet is provided. The process includes soaking a steel sheet. The steel has a composition including iron, carbon, manganese, silicon, aluminum, sulfur, phosphorus and nitrogen and at least one metallic element X chosen among vanadium, titanium, niobium, molybdenum, and chromium. A quantity Xp of metallic element under the form of carbides, nitrides or carbonitrides is, by weight: 0.030%≦Vp≦0.40%; 0.030%≦Tip≦0.50%; 0.040%≦Nbp≦0.40%; 0.14%≦Mop≦0.44%; or 0.070%≦Crp≦0.6%. The soaking step occurs under a pure nitrogen or argon atmosphere with a dew point lower than −30° C. at a soaking temperature θ between 250 and 900° C. and with a dynamic circulation of a regenerated atmosphere.

Abstract:
Methods of providing a corrosion-resistant plating on a steel bumper are provided. A galvanized zinc layer is deposited over a steel substrate. A plurality of nickel layers is deposited over the zinc layer. The plurality of zinc layers has at least a first porosity and a second porosity. A chrome layer is applied over the plurality of nickel layers. The porous nickel layer is immediately adjacent the chrome layer such that a stress applied to the chrome layer is distributed over the porous nickel layer. The porous nickel layer delocalizes a stress applied at an impact area to a dispersed area and the dispersed area is larger than the impact area.
Abstract:
A process of treating a coated article and a treated article are disclosed. The process includes providing an article having a MCrAlY coating, applying an aluminide treatment onto the MCrAlY coating to form a treated MCrAlY coating, and outwardly forming β-phase material from the MCrAlY coating into the treatment. The applying is selected from the group consisting of soaking, spraying, brushing, dipping, pouring, pack cementation, vapor deposition, and combinations thereof. The treated article includes a substrate and a treated MCrAlY coating positioned on at least a portion of the substrate. The treated MCrAlY coating includes a β-phase aluminide in a spray-applied, brush-applied, pour-applied, dip-applied, pack cement-applied, vapor deposit-applied, or soaking-applied treatment.
