Abstract:
An apparatus for coating the internal surface of a tubular object having an irregular internal surface which comprises a combination of arms which enable the torch to be in the optimal coating position as it moves over and coats the internal surface.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a plasma processing apparatus comprising a housing chamber which accommodates substances to be painted made of synthetic resin, a rotating support base which is provided in the housing chamber and rotates the substance to be painted, a plurality of hangers which are placed on the rotating support base and supports the substance to be painted, at least one plasma injection tube which is provided in the housing chamber and giving plasma processing to the surface of substance by injecting plasma gas thereto, and a variable speed drive means which rotates the rotating support base at the speed in accordance with a size and a number of substances to be painted.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for spray metallizing a coating of metal (e.g. zinc) onto one or both sides of a base metal (e.g. steel) which comprises melting the metal to be deposited, propelling first and second streams of the melted metal towards the base metal at a point of convergence adjacent to the substrate, and applying a potential difference between the streams to form an electric arc whereby superheated particles are deposited on the base metal.
Abstract:
A plasma welding torch or burner generally including a cylindrical body portion, an electrode carried by the body, a plasma gas nozzle, a protective gas nozzle concentrically disposed around the plasma gas nozzle and engaging the body in a manner to clamp the plasma nozzle in position on an end portion of the body. The body has a pair of elongated apertures formed therethrough and aligned with a longitudinal axis thereof. A pair of conduits are secured to the plasma nozzle and form inlet and outlet passageways for directing coolant through a coolant chamber in the plasma gas nozzle. The pair of conduits are carried within the elongated apertures formed in the body, and a pair of connectors overlie an end portion of the conduits to provide connection means to a source of coolant and to seal the conduits in position. The body portion is further characterized by another elongated aperture formed parallel of the longitudinal axis and opening into an annular chamber formed between the protective gas nozzle and an outer surface of the body to provide passageway means for directing protective gas through the protective gas nozzle. Plasma gas passes through a passageway formed in a sleeve disposed coaxially of the body and enters the plasma nozzle through lateral slots formed in a collet received in the sleeve and securing the electrode onto the body.
Abstract:
A thermally sprayed coating is formed on an inner surface of a cylinder bore of a cylinder block by using a thermal spray gun. The thermal spray gun is reciprocated along an axial direction in the cylinder bore while being rotated, and injects melted droplets generated by melting a wire made of a ferrous material from a nozzle at its end. At this time, a moving speed of the thermal spray gun along the axial direction into the cylinder bore is made equal-to or larger-than a predetermined value, and the number of reciprocating cycles of the thermal spray gun along the axial direction into the cylinder bore is made equal-to or larger-than a predetermined value.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an installation and a method for the metallic coating of a workpiece using a coating device, said coating device comprising a displaceable coating lance, by which a metal plasma jet can be generated to create a coating of metal particles. According to the invention, it is provided that the coating device with the coating lance and a measuring device for measuring the coating thickness are jointly integrated in the installation, and that the coating device with the coating lance as well as the measuring device are enclosed by a housing.
Abstract:
