Abstract:
A method and a device for the production of an internally cooled inlet or outlet valve for internal combustion engines, together with the resultant valve includes provision of a workpiece, which has a cylindrical stem and a cylindrical hole and, extends in the axial direction from one end of the valve stem. The method includes reshaping the end of the valve stern by form rolling of the cylindrical stem to a smaller diameter, wherein a diameter of the cylindrical hole is reduced, wherein the cylindrical hole remains. The method further includes reshaping by form rolling the section of the workpiece that is adjacent to the valve stem to form the valve head.
Abstract:
Provided is a metal strip for a pipe with which the weight of a pipe can be reduced while maintaining the strength of a joint portion that tends to be structurally the weakest. A metal strip L is formed by rolling. The thickness of each of a head end portion 1a and a tail end portion 1b, which are longitudinal end portions 1, is greater than the thickness of an intermediate portion excluding the longitudinal end portions 1. The metal strips are connected to each other in series by welding, and a pipe is made by performing a pipe-forming operation.
Abstract:
A method of forming an article such as a jewellery ring or bangle comprising: providing a first substantially annular-sectioned element and a second substantially annular-sectioned element, an outer diameter of the first element being less than an inner diameter of the second element; forming a circumferential groove in one of the first and second elements by a process of rolling; positioning the first and second elements together with the second element positioned circumferentially around the first element; and expanding the first element such that the circumferential groove in the one element receives therein the other of the said elements.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a tool and a method for shaping a conductor bar for an electric machine and a use of such a tool. Disclosed is a tool for shaping a conductor bar for an electric machine, with a hammer or a movable wheel supported by arms, the hammer or the movable wheel are suitable for engaging and exerting force to the conductor bar to modify the height h and/or the surface structure of the conductor bar, whereas the hammer conducts a bidirectional movement in the axial direction of the tool, whereas the wheel conducts a bidirectional movement in the axial direction of the tool and/or a rotating movement, whereas the tool applies heat to the conductor bar by friction of the hammer or the movable wheel. It is one advantage of the invention that the method and the tool do not remove any material from the conductor bar.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing one or more elongated coin souvenirs in a single payment transaction embossed with any or all available images. A user interface displays the available images and instructions on how to operate the apparatus. Once a user makes a selection and completes a payment transaction, the apparatus begins to press and emboss coins with chosen image or images. If multiple elongated coins are purchased, an electronic control system causes a delivery of a first coin and causes a pressing mechanism to elongate and emboss the first image onto the coin. Upon completion of this action, a delivery of a second coin to the pressing mechanism is impressed with the next image. These steps are then be repeated until all of the images purchased by the user are impressed onto coins and delivered to the user.
Abstract:
A first roll (20) and a second roll (40) of a roll forming device are provided with a plurality of stacked cutting blades (22, 122) and retainers (21, 121). The retainers (21, 121) pass through the stacked cutting blades (22, 122) and receive a first rotating shaft (16) and a second rotating shaft (18). Projections (21a, 121a) are formed on end portions of the retainers (21, 121). When the cutting blades (22, 122) are stacked, the projections (21a, 121a) control positioning operation of the cutting blades (22, 122). With this constitution, when the cutting blades (22, 122) are joined in a stacked state to the retainers (21, 121), the cutting blades (22, 122) in the stacking direction is controlled with the retainers (21, 121).
Abstract:
A system and method for manufacturing a honeycomb body is described provided. Said system having: a forming mold with a plurality of sub-molds, which are movable so that they can be opened and closed; a tightening mold for tightening said forming mold; rolling pin(s), which can be inserted into and pulled out of the inner volume of said forming mold and can rotate around a rotation axis; wherein said tightening mold has a shape that cooperates with the shape of said forming mold, so that an action of said tightening mold causes tightening of said forming mold.
