Abstract:
A vent system for an axle of a heavy-duty vehicle includes a check valve and an exhaust tube that is connected to the check valve. The check valve includes a first end that is mounted on the axle, a second end, and a body that is disposed between the first and second ends and is in selective fluid communication with the axle interior. The exhaust tube includes a first end that is mounted on the second end of the check valve, and a second end that is open to atmosphere and is in fluid communication with the check valve body. Using any one of a number of types of configurations for the valve body, the vent system selectively exhausts air from the axle interior to atmosphere to relieve buildups of pressure in the axle, while protecting the integrity of the check valve and preventing contaminants from entering the axle.
Abstract:
A hermetically sealed wheel assembly which has been welding autogenously is provided, along with a method and system for welding the wheel assembly. The wheel assembly is made up of at least two components which are laser welded to each other without the use of filler material to create a hermetically sealed wheel assembly.

Abstract:
A FRP rim for a bicycle, including a radially outer tire-engaging portion and a radially inner spoke-engaging portion. A first sidewall is in a spaced configuration with a second sidewall. The first and second sidewalls extend between the radially outer tire-engaging portion and the radially inner spoke-engaging portion and one or more integral bumper is located on an outermost radial extent or peak portion of the radially outer tire-engaging portion.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a rim made from composite material for a tubeless bicycle wheel comprising a radially outer portion shaped for the coupling with a tyre, said radially outer portion comprising a through hole for an inflation valve. Advantageously, at least one first impermeable-to-air layer is integrally associated with said radially outer portion, around said hole.
Abstract:
A complex wheel rim assembly structure contains a hub, a front member, a rear member, a leak-proof O-ring, and plural assembly members. The hub includes plural radial plates and assembly holes. An inward folding edge is close to a central hole of the front member and has plural assembly holes, and an outward expanding edge is at an exterior side of the front member. An inward folding edge is close to a central hole of the rear member and has plural assembly holes, and an outward expanding edge is at an exterior side of the rear member. Grooves are at exterior sides of the inward folding edges of the front and rear members, the leak-proof O-ring is between the two inward folding edges of the front and rear members, and the wheel rim is assembled through the plural assembly members.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a vehicle wheel which can be manufactured at low cost, exhibits superior design characteristics, and with which mechanical strength can be adequately ensured. The vehicle wheel has a construction that is split into an outer-rim member that constitutes an outer-rim part, and a wheel-constituting member comprising an integral molding that constitutes an inner-rim part and disk part, wherein the outer-rim member end portion on the attachment face side is formed so as to be capable of fitting over the wheel-constituting member; an annular groove is formed in the engaging face of the wheel-constituting member which engages with the outer-rim member; and the outer-rim member is integrally fastened to the wheel-constituting member by press-fitting the outer-rim member end portion on the attachment face side inside the annular groove.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a full face wheel comprising a full face wheel disc and a partial wheel rim. The wheel disc has an annular inboard portion. The wheel rim has an annular outboard end. A chemical bond is formed between the outboard end of the wheel rim and the inboard portion of the wheel disc to secure the wheel rim to the wheel disc.
Abstract:
A safety tire and wheel assembly for pneumatic tires which includes a safety insert having an inner portion extending around the wheel rim base for clamping the tire bead toes against the opposing rim flanges and an outer portion projecting radially into the tire cavity. A band of resilient material such as rubber is carried by a circumferential array of bearing elements in a depression formed on the outer surface of the core outer portion for supporting the tire tread with respect to the wheel rim upon loss of tire inflation pressure. The wheel includes a two-piece rim comprising a first rim portion welded to a wheel disc and a demountable rim portion mounted by the circumferential array of clamps to the fixed rim portion. A sealing ring is disposed between the rim portions for sealing the tire cavity for tubeless operation.
