Abstract: A rearview vision system for a vehicle includes an image capture device mounted at the rear of the vehicle and having a field of view directed rearwardly of the vehicle. A display system is viewable by a driver of the vehicle. The display system displays a rearward image output of the image capture device. A graphic overlay is superimposed on the rearward image when the gear actuator of the vehicle selects a reverse gear. The graphic overlay may include indicia of the anticipated path of travel of the vehicle. The graphic overlay may be disabled when the gear actuator of the vehicle is not in reverse gear.

Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a forward viewing camera disposed behind a windshield of a vehicle and viewing forward of the vehicle through the windshield. A control is disposed at the vehicle and includes an image processor operable to process image data captured by the forward viewing camera. A drone includes a drone camera that captures image data. The drone is detachably disposed at the vehicle and is detachable from the vehicle and operable to fly above the vehicle. The drone camera captures image data representative of an area viewed by the drone camera with the drone flying above the vehicle. With the drone detached from the vehicle and flying above the vehicle, the drone communicates a signal to the control. Responsive to receiving the signal communicated by the drone, the control determines a traffic condition ahead of the equipped vehicle.

Abstract: The invention relates to monitoring the area in front of a vehicle by means of an apparatus that comprises at least two imaging devices (110, 120). Provided are a first imaging device (110), which covers a first imaging angle, and a second imaging device (120), which covers a second, greater imaging angle. The first imaging device (110) covers a first zone (111) of the area in front of the vehicle, while at the same time, the second imaging device (120) covers a second zone (121) of the area in front of the vehicle. The two imaging devices (110, 120) are positioned spaced, in particular spaced laterally, from one another such that a central area (140) is covered by both the first and the second imaging devices (110, 120). By fusing the data acquired by the imaging devices (110, 120), a stereo image of the central area is generated, while monoscopic images are generated of those zones that are each covered by only a first or a second imaging device.

Abstract: A hand of a user may be detected in free space, where a plurality of surface points are determined and include a center area surface point and at least two surface points of the plurality of surface points located on a periphery of the surface of the hand. A curve extending through the plurality of surface points may be determined based on a position of a curvature. The plurality of surface points are processed to determine if the plurality of surface points of the detected hand are arranged in at least one of a substantially concave area relative to the sensor, and/or a substantially convex area relative to the sensor. The detected hand may be identified as a palm or back of the hand based on the processing of the plurality of surface points.
