摘要: In a wireless docking system a host (100) is arranged for docking a dockee (120) and relaying data packets from the dockee to an audio/video peripheral (110,111,112). The host is arranged for using a first host interne protocol [IP] address as address for the host for the wireless communication while docking the dockee, and using a second host IP address as address for the host for the wireless communication for setting up a direct connection to the audio/video peripheral, while the host operates as an audio/video data source towards the peripheral, and providing the second host IP address to the dockee. The dockee is arranged for using the second host IP address as source IP address for the dockee for exchanging data packets with the audio/video peripheral while transferring the data packets via the host. The audio/video peripheral can keep on using the same destination IP address and is not aware of actually communicating with the dockee.

摘要: Exemplary methods for generating and providing personalized dynamic live content feeds are described. Recommended live content can be dynamically and intelligently provided to users based upon their prior consumption history so that the recommendations are highly relevant to the user. Live content recommendations can be provided to the user using feeds only when content exists that the user is likely to be interested in. These feeds can be displayed only when a minimum number of a specific live content items of a particular type or category are currently airing, and can be removed from the user interface when the content finishes airing and/or the minimum number of items is no longer met.

摘要: One embodiment of the present invention sets forth a technique for streaming digital media content with transition effects. Audio data may be modulated and received by the streaming device for an audio fade-in effect. Similarly, video data may be modulated to perform various visual effects. Such a technique allows for fading-in of audio and/or video, fading-out of audio and/or video, and effects that blend audio from different content and video from different content during a transition from one digital media content to a different digital media content or within the same digital media content. The modulated audio and video data to generate the audio or video effect during a transition may be precomputed or computed in real-time and transmitted to the streaming device. The streaming device switches between original unmodulated content streams and effect content streams when transitions are detected.

摘要: A method, a system, and a computer program product for providing media to a requester at a particular playback rate associated with the requester. The method includes receiving a request from a requester for a playback session of media that includes a time varying content. In response to receiving the request, a profile associated with the requester is accessed to determine a playback rate of the media for the requester. In response to determining the playback rate of the media for the requester, the media is provided to the requester at the determined playback rate. The method further includes monitoring the playback session of the media for playback changes by the requester and dynamically adapting the playback rate associated with the requester based on the type and frequency of playback changes.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for using selective resolution reduction on images to be transmitted and/or used by a playback device are described. Prior to transmission one or more images of an environment are captured. Based on image content, motion detection and/or user input a resolution reduction operation is selected and performed. The reduced resolution image is communicated to a playback device along with information indicating a UV map corresponding to the selected resolution allocation that should be used by the playback device for rendering the communicated image. By changing the resolution allocation used and which UV map is used by the playback device different resolution allocations can be made with respect to different portions of the environment while allowing the number of pixels in transmitted images to remain constant. The playback device renders the individual images with the UV map corresponding to the resolution allocation used to generate the individual images.

摘要: Systems and methods to play secondary media content include responding to a trick mode request (e.g., fast forward, rewind). A system receives a message from a device playing primary media content, and the message includes a first identifier of the primary media content, a secondary identifier of a playback direction, and a third identifier of a playback speed. Next, the system executes an application that results in identification of a media asset based on the first identifier, selection of media frames from the media asset, and generation of secondary media content based on the selected media frames, the second identifier, and the third identifier. Next, the system provides the secondary media content to the device. The provided secondary media content enables the device to play the secondary media content instead of continuing to play the primary media content.

摘要: A uniform resource locator (URL) monitoring system and method employs rules for dynamically managing URLs associated with streamed video content. The system monitors the content stream for URLs and, when a URL is detected, applies the rules to determine how to handle the URL. The system may disable selected trick modes to prevent additional content from being skipped. Alternatively, the system may display the URL while a trick mode is active and, if the URL is followed, suspend the trick mode and show the additional content. URLs encountered during trick modes may be captured and the URL or additional content presented when normal playback resumes. Additionally, the system may determine whether to fit saved URLs around other URLs later in the content stream, display saved URLs simultaneously with the later URLs, or replace the later URLs with the saved URLs based on the handling rules.

摘要: Systems, devices, and methods for streaming media content over a network are provided. One exemplary method of streaming media content over a network involves transmitting one or more portions of the media content to a client device via a delivery route between a content delivery source and the network, determining a performance metric associated with the transmitting of the one or more portions via the delivery route, and dynamically adjusting the delivery route between the content delivery source and the network based at least in part on the performance metric.
