Abstract: A stabilizer including: a main body for generating an elastic restoring force; and connecting portions formed on both ends of the main body and respectively connected to left and right suspension devices. Hardness of the connecting portions is lower than that of the main body. A method for manufacturing the stabilizer includes, in order, an entire body heat treatment process for heat treating an entire stabilizer and increasing hardness of the entire stabilizer, and a connecting portion softening process for heating the connecting portions and reducing the hardness of the connecting portions. The method for manufacturing the stabilizer thereby increases hardness of the main body and reduces the hardness of the connecting portions lower than that of the main body.

Abstract: A viscous liquid feed nozzle has a nozzle body having a thin and long hole with a front end serving as a feed port. The nozzle is used with a viscous liquid feed unit to feed a viscous liquid such as a viscous adhesive from the feed port. The nozzle has a lubricative plated layer at least on the inside and outside of the feed port. The lubricative plated layer is formed by electroless plating by immersing the nozzle in a plating tank containing a lubricative plating solution. A base end of the nozzle body may have a wide port. In this case, the lubricative plated layer is formed by immersing the nozzle body in the plating tank containing the lubricative plating solution so that the lubricative plating solution enters the wide port and by applying pressure or gravity to the lubricative plating solution in the wide port to pass the lubricative plating solution through the thin and long hole of the nozzle body and discharge the same from the feed port. The viscous liquid feed nozzle with the lubricative plated layer is capable of stably feeding a very small quantity of a viscous liquid.

Abstract: The invention provides a production method for stabilizers which produces with high productivity in a compact production line, without tempering. The production method for stabilizers of the invention includes: forming a steel bar material containing at least C: 0.15 wt % to 0.39 wt %, Mn, B and Fe into a product shape by bending; and quenching the bent steel bar material in a medium having a heat transfer coefficient higher than or close to that of water.

Abstract: A coiling machine includes a material guide, first pin, second pin, pitch tool, cutting tool, heating device, temperature sensor, and controller. A material is bent between the first pin and the second pin to form an arc part between the first pin and the second pin. The controller select control data corresponding to the temperature of the material from a plurality of control data corresponding to a processing temperature. Then, the positions of the first pin and the second pin are controlled such that a radius of curvature of the arc part increases when the temperature of the material increases, and the position of the cutting tool is controlled such that a gap between the center of curvature of the arc part and the cutting tool increases.

Abstract: A flexure includes a metal substrate whose front end supports a slider and a wiring part having a base insulating layer and a conductor layer formed on the base insulating layer. The wiring part includes a normal wiring part that is on the metal substrate and an aerial wiring part that is on a space separated from the metal substrate. The base insulating layer of the aerial wiring part is formed to be thinner than that of the normal wiring part. This configuration reduces a rigidity contribution ratio of the wiring part.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of surely detecting a crack in piezoelectric elements regardless of size of the crack. The method includes applying voltage to a first piezoelectric element of a pair of piezoelectric elements to cause deformation in the first piezoelectric element, forcibly deforming a second piezoelectric element of the pair of the piezoelectric elements to generate voltage from the second piezoelectric element according to the deformation of the first piezoelectric element, finding a transfer function of the pair of the piezoelectric elements based on values of the applied voltage and the generated voltage, and detecting presence or absence of a crack in the pair of the piezoelectric elements based on an objective value obtained from the found transfer function.

Abstract: A needle attachment and detachment assist device includes a frame body, a syringe guide jig, and a needle guide jig. A guide hole is formed in the syringe guide jig. In the needle guide jig, a needle insertion hole is formed on a central axis of the guide hole. The needle insertion hole includes a center hole portion and a rib guide groove. When a syringe is inserted into the guide hole, and a needle member is further inserted into the needle insertion hole, rotation prevention of the needle member is achieved. In this state, when the syringe is rotated in a first direction, the needle member can be clamped to a thread portion of the syringe. When the syringe is rotated in a second direction, the needle member can be loosened.

Abstract: The coil spring includes steel wire material containing 0.45 to 0.80 weight % of C, 0.15 to 2.50 weight % of Si, 0.3 to 1.0 weight % of Mn and iron and inevitable impurities as the remainder, and having a circle equivalent diameter of 2.5 mm to 10 mm, in which internal hardness at a freely selected cross section of the wire material is in a range of 570 to 700 Hv, C-condensed layer which exceeds average concentration of C contained in the steel wire material exists at surface layer part, and in an approximate maximum principal stress direction generated when a compressive load is loaded on spring of inner diameter side of the coil spring of the wire material, unloaded compressive residual stress at a depth of 0.2 mm and 0.4 min from surface of the wire material is not less than 200 MPa and not less than 60 MPa, respectively.

Abstract: A flexure mounted on a load beam of a disk drive suspension, including a metal base formed of a stainless-steel plate; and a conductive circuit arranged along the metal base. The conductive circuit includes an insulating layer on the metal base; and a conductor on the insulating layer.
