A method of purifying 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane comprising partially melting a crystal of crude 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane and removing a melt to obtain a high purity 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane. By utilizing the method, a high purity 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane is obtained efficiently with a low level of energy consumption.

A multilayer molded article having good appearance is produced by providing a preheated fiber-reinforced resin sheet between a pair of upper and lower molds, and supplying a thermoplastic resin melt and optionally a foam sheet between the upper mold and the fiber-reinforced resin sheet. The thermoplastic resin melt is supplied through a resin supplying opening provided in the lower mold, and through a hole made in the fiber-reinforced resin sheet and the foam sheet. During the supply of the resin melt or as soon as the resin supply is finished, the molds are closed to further flow, and the resin melt is formed to produce a mu molded article made of the fiber-reinforced resin sheet, a skin layer of the thermoplastic resin and optionally the foam sheet therebetween.

An optical film having high optical uniformity is disclosed, including a thermoplastic resin film having no periodic thickness variation of sine waveform having a pitch of 50 mm or less and a thickness change of 0.5 .mu.m or more on continuous thickness measurement in the machine direction, and an optical film having a retardation value of 1200 nm or less with a fluctuation of not more than 10% and a rate of change of not more than 1.3%/cm, which is obtained by stretching said thermoplastic resin film. The optical film is laminated on a polarizing sheet to serve as a phase retarder.

A laminate comprising a soft polyolefin resin layer, an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester-maleic anhydride terpolymer resin layer, and a soft urethane foam resin layer is disclosed. The laminate is produced by a process comprising co-extruding a soft polyolefin resin and an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester-maleic anhydride terpolymer resin to prepare a two-layer sheet and continuously laminating a soft urethane foam fabricated in a stratiform state on the ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester-maleic anhydride terpolymer resin layer by hot pressing. The laminate has a satisfactory appearance, toughness, a soft touch, and a cushioning effect.

The present invention relates to an adhesive tape which is low in cost and the properties of which such as unwindability, adhesiveness, trimmed clearance, printability, transparency and longitudinal tearing strength are improved without spoiling lateral hand cutting characteristics, wherein a smooth surface is formed on one side of a polyolefin resin base film and an uneven surface is formed on the other side thereof, the latter being coated with an adhesive and having an uneven depth of 0.03-0.30 mm and an uneven interval of 0.5-5.0 mm, the melt index of polyolefin resin being 0.2-20 g/10 min. and a surface wetting tension of the smooth surface of the polyolefin resin base film being less than 30 Dyn/cm and that of the uneven surface being more than 35 Dyn/cm.

The thickness of a fiber-reinforced resin sheet having uniformly distributed and substantially unidirectional fibers is reduced by stretching a fiber-reinforced resin sheet starting material in intimate contact with a thermoplastic sheet having a tensile strength larger than the fiber-reinforced resin sheet. This is accomplished by heating the fiber-reinforced resin sheet at a temperature at which the resin in the fiber-reinforced resin becomes sticky and subjecting the sheets to a uniform compressive force to adhere the fiber-reinforced sheet to the thermoplastic resin sheet and then simultaneously stretching the thus-adhered sheets to form a thin fiber-reinforced sheet in which the direction of stretching is perpendicular to the direction of the fibers.
