Abstract: The dry running detection system for a pump includes an ultrasonic transducer (8) designed for arrangement inside a pump housing (24) and electrically connected to a frequency generator (2) producing an electrical signal having a predefined frequency. An analyzing unit (10) of the system analyzes the electrical signal applied to the ultrasonic transducer (8) and is designed to detect whether the ultrasonic transducer (8) is in contact with a liquid or not on basis of the signal level of the electrical signal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a water treatment system comprising a pre-filtering device receiving water, such as waste water, to be treated and providing a filtrate, and a biological treatment device being fluidic connectable to or in fluidic connection with the pre-filtering device for receiving the filtrate from the pre-filtering device. The biological treatment device is adapted to perform a biological treatment of the filtrate and to provide sludge solids. The pre-filtering device is a cake filtration device having a filtration cake wherein the filtration cake is being provided by deposition of solids from the sludge formed in the biological treatment device. A water treatment process employing the system and a method of forming a filter cake are also described.

Abstract: A method for the quantitative and/or qualitative detection of particles in fluid, with which the fluid to be examined is introduced into a beam path of an optical device, between at least one light source and the image acquisition sensor with a matrix of light-sensitive cells. Pixel values of the cells are detected and the distribution of the pixel values is at least partly determined. The pixel value or values which have been determined most often are used as a value or average value for a background signal. A signal is outputted or the method is interrupted, on reaching a maximal permissible value for the background signal.

Characteristics of at least one particle (3), which is detected with regard to imaging, are compared to characteristics of a characteristics collection for determining the detected particle (3). The image acquisition is effected with darkfield technology and a light-sensitive pixel comprises several subpixels which are used for image acquisition.

Abstract: A circulation pump assembly, with a wet-running electrical drive motor (4), includes a pump casing (6) as well as a motor housing (22) which is connected to the pump casing (6). An interior of the motor housing (22), in a region adjacent the first axial end (24), is filled with a potting mass (40) surrounding the stator (18) and the motor electronics (34).

Abstract: A method for detecting faults or operational parameters in a pump assembly by use of a handheld communication device is described. The pump assembly includes an electric motor and a pump, wherein the pump assembly or electric motor has at least one rotating shaft The method comprises the steps of: a) measuring a sound signal emanating from the pump assembly by use of a microphone connected to or implemented in the handheld communication device, b) processing the measured sound signal, and c) recognising one or more sound emanating condition including any possible faults by way of the processed sound signal. The app automatically repeats at least steps b) and c) for a plurality of preselected frequency ranges in order to detect different fault states.
