Abstract:
A ceiling light emitting assembly includes a first plate with at least a first light emitting source thereon for emission of light. When in use, the first plate extends at a first angle to a substantially horizontal direction.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for repairing mask damage defects. After determining topographical information of a defect on a mask, one or more grating repair specifications are determined based on an optical simulation using the topographical information. One or more artificial grating areas are formed on one or more sides of the defect based on the grating repair specification.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for fabricating an integrated circuit entail directing a vapor flux toward a substrate surface from a plurality of directions associated with a plurality of azimuth angles, and selecting a deposition angle of the vapor flux, relative to a normal incidence, to obtain a substantially conformal film. The surface feature can be associated with, for example, one or more vias and/or one or more trenches.
Abstract:
A transducer array includes two or more sub-arrays that move relative to each other. Position sensors on each of the sub-arrays provide spatial coordination for beamforming and/or image forming to yield extended field of view and high image resolution. The adaptable transducer array, such as mounted on a flexible transducer housing, allows the array to better conform to the patient during internal or external use.
Abstract:
An analog color video signal is inputted to a chip, which converts the analog signal into digital video signal. The digital color difference signals are then converted into three primary color format. Then a format detector detects the resolution and the scanning format. If the video signal is of interlaced scanning format, the detector unit removes the interlacing and converts the interlace into progressive format. The video signal is enhanced by a enhancing unit and adjusted to fit into the frame of the display screen.
Abstract:
A headset having a built-in audio source and cable management mechanism is disclosed herein. The headset is composed of two loop-style earpieces and a cable connecting the two earpieces. One earpiece has a built-in audio source such as a MP3 player, an AM/FM receiver, and the like. The cable is for delivering audio signal from the audio source built in one earpiece to the other. The other earpiece has a built-in cable winder so that the cable could be pulled and fixed to a desired length. When the headset is not in use, a slight pull and release of the cable would allow the cable winder to retract the cable back into the earpiece.
Abstract:
A method for automated landmark extraction from three-dimensional whole body scanned data extracts feature points as landmarks from a plurality of point clouds obtained from a three-dimensional whole body scanner, without pre-making the landmarks on a human body before scanning. The system includes: (1) Silhouette analysis, which projects three-dimensional body scanned data onto a two-dimensional surface and observes the variations in curvature and depth; (2) Minimum circumference, which uses the variations of the circumference of body parts to define the locations of the landmarks and feature lines; (3) Gray-scale detection, which converts the color information of human body from RGB values into gray-scale values to locate the landmarks with greater variations in brightness; and (4) Human-body contour plot, which simulates the sense of touch to locate landmarks by finding the prominent and concave parts on the human body.
Abstract:
Graphitic nanotubes, which include tubular fullerenes (commonly called “buckytubes”) and fibrils, which are functionalized by chemical substitution, are used as solid supports in electrogenerated chemiluminescence assays. The graphitic nanotubes are chemically modified with functional group biomolecules prior to use in an assay. Association of electrochemiluminescent ruthenium complexes with the functional group biomolecule-modified nanotubes permits detection of molecules including nucleic acids, antigens, enzymes, and enzyme substrates by multiple formats.
Abstract:
Low dielectric compositions and methods of use thereof in integrated circuits are disclosed. The low dielectric compositions are derived from carbosilane polymers and oligomers containing imbedded sila- or disilacyclobutane rings and, after heating to induce cross-linking, may be used as an interlayer dielectric as well as a capping layer within an integrated circuit.
Abstract:
A radio link protocol (RLP)/point-to-point protocol (PPP) design is disclosed for wireless multimedia packet networks that passes corrupted packet data and error location information among OSI layers. The RLP layer provides erasure data frames and optionally error location indicators to the PPP layer. When the PPP layer has access to the erasure data frames, the data frames can be padded with a predefined value, such as all zeroes “0” to prevent error propagation from one data frame (or octet) to the following data frames (or octets). When the PPP layer has access to the error location information, the PPP layer can detect if the PPP packet header is corrupted. When a valid header is detected, the PPP layer forwards the packet payload to the higher layers (TCP, UDP) whether or not the payload is properly received. Thus, the application has access to all the usable information, so the application can determine whether and how to utilize the information. The RLP/PPP design of the present invention allows packets with partially corrupted payloads to still be forwarded to the UDP layer and then to the application layer.
