The invention concerns gearshift transmissions with a lock synchronization arrangement in which one synchronizer member, connected with a transmission shaft and at least one gear wheel rotating at a different speed, can be coupled together during synchronous speed by means of an annular sliding sleeve axially movable by a gearshift force. Coupling teeth of the sliding sleeve mesh with corresponding coupling teeth of each rotating gear wheel or of a clutch member connected with each rotating wheel. Between the sliding sleeve and each rotating gear wheel is situated one synchronizer ring, parts of said synchronizer ring forming, with parts connected with the gear wheel or provided thereon, a positively engaged coupling. In the absence of synchronism, the axial movement of the sliding sleeve is locked by blocking surfaces of locking teeth. The coupling teeth are stub-ended coupling teeth which are dampened by elastic elements. The axial shifting movement is terminated when the stub-ended coupling teeth butt upon each other. The gearshift stroke is shortened. The so-called "2nd point" in the gearshift cycle is no longer perceivable for the driver. Different embodiments are proposed.

Each shifting element has an electric motor; a transmission operationally connected with the electric motor; and placed between the shifting element and the transmission apparatus, a drive converter apparatus, by way of which rotationally directed drive of the electric motors is respectively transformed into a translational activation motion for the control of the shifting elements. The drive converter apparatuses respectively possess a first drive element and a second drive element of which one drive element, converse to the other drive element, is of translational movement.

The coupling device also comprises a synchromesh device. In addition, a method is described for controlling a transmission that has at least one shift control element and two shift control element halves which can be brought into active frictional engagement. When it is necessary to close the shift control element, the coupling device is synchronized by a synchromesh device, a positive-locking function of the coupling device is closed, and the halves of the shift control element are frictionally engaged.

Disclosed is a method for controlling and regulating the drive train of a vehicle, comprising a drive unit, a transmission and an output unit. The transmission has controllable free-wheel units corresponding with pairs of toothed wheels for disengaging or engaging an old or a new gear and a clutch mounted on the output side. In the presence of a shift command for carrying out a higher traction shift, the transmission capacity of the clutch is adjusted in a manner such that a current drive torque of the drive unit applied to said clutch is transmitted to the output unit and the clutch exhibits at least an approximately slip-free state. When a higher traction shift exists, an operative connection is suddenly created between a controllable free-wheel unit and a corresponding pair of toothed wheels of the new gear, and the operative connection of the old gear is at least almost simultaneously canceled.

A transmission shifting device (1) is described which has one shifting element (3) rotatably guided upon an axle (2) and provided with at least one grooved path (4). The grooved path (4) engages at least one shift fork (5) which upon rotation of the shifting element (3) can be moved accordingly axially by the shape of the grooved path (4). Rotation of the shifting element (3) is possible via an electromotor (8) in operative connection with the shifting element (3) and having one stator (9) and one rotor (10). According to the invention, the stator (9) and the rotor (10) are situated at least partly between the shifting element (3) and the component part (2) without a housing of their own.
