Abstract:
A diagnostic technique for an x-ray source. A system monitors existing conditions (e.g., tube current Y) in the source to track degradation of certain components to anticipate failure. Storage of past characteristics and reference characteristics is also provided for predicting failure and other operating conditions of the source. Communication techniques are provided for the monitoring and warning functions.
Abstract:
A tooling system including a workstation assembly and a toolkit, is for performing an operation on a valve assembly. The workstation assembly includes a base platform; upright members extending generally vertically therefrom; an adjustable valve seat assembly coupled thereto for adjusting the height and alignment of the valve assembly being worked on; a stabilizing assembly for further aligning and securing the valve assembly; and a clamping assembly for engaging and securing the valve assembly once it is aligned, in order to permit the operation to be quickly and easily performed on the aligned, secured valve assembly. A method of use is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Mobile apparatus, typically in the form of automatic swimming pool cleaners, capable of indicating temperatures (or pressures) of the pool water in which they are deployed are discussed. The indication may, but need not necessarily, occur through change in color of one of more components of the cleaners. Some versions may have floats adapted to provide this color change. These or other versions may include floats that are not spherical in shape as well. Alternatively, temperature (or pressure) indication may be provided by other aspects of a water-circulation system.
Abstract:
This invention relates to libraries of non-peptide compounds each comprised of a core structure and methods for making such libraries. This invention also relates to novel silicon-based polymer resins and silane linkers, methods for their preparation and their use in the synthesis of libraries of compounds to be screened as pharmaceutical agents.
Abstract:
A method for evaluating and assessing a presentation for deviations, comprising receiving a first set of materials, wherein the first set of materials are associated with a presentation syllabus, receiving a recording of the presentation, creating an evaluated compilation of the presentation, wherein the evaluated compilation comprises an integration of the first set of materials with the recording of the presentation, assessing the evaluated compilation in relation to a predetermined set of requirements, wherein the predetermined set of requirements are based on audio and visual aspects of the recording of the presentation, indexing each instance where one of the predetermined set of requirements are triggered from the evaluated compilation, and generating a report based on the triggering of the predetermined set of requirements.
Abstract:
A pole-clamping system including an upper-tubular-body, a lower-tubular-body, a locking-mechanism, an upper-foot, a lower-foot, and a pole-hook-mechanism. The pole-clamp system constructed with a net-positive-buoyancy such that the pole-clamp system floats in water. The pole-clamp system structured and arranged to be removably and adjustably insertable within a skimmer-inlet of a pool to hold a pool-accessory via the pole of the pool-accessory. The upper-tubular-circumference of the upper-tubular-body may be smaller in dimension than the lower-tubular-circumference of the lower-tubular-body such that the upper-tubular-body may be slideably insertable within the lower-tubular-body to allow for a variable-length of the pole-clamp system. The locking-mechanism selectively and securely locks the upper-tubular-body within the lower-tubular-body to maintain the variable-length of the pole-clamp system during use with the pole-hook-mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bag system with adjustable flexible straps. The bag system with adjustable flexible straps includes: a bag and one or more adjustable stretch strap systems. The bag may be a backpack, a handbag, a purse, a duffle bag, or a piece of luggage. The present invention also provides an adjustable stretch strap system. The adjustable stretch strap system includes: a flexible elongated member, one or more first members, and two or more second members; and one or more hooks for coupling to the flexible elongated member.
Abstract:
A vascular repair device includes a tubular graft body having upstream and downstream ends, and an interior surface and a clasping stent partially attached to the interior surface. The clasping stent circumference defines upstream and downstream apices, and struts connecting respective adjacent apices. The struts each have upstream and downstream portions. The upstream portion of some of the struts is unattached from the interior surface and some of the upstream apices adjacent the unattached struts are also unattached. A crown stent can be attached circumferentially to the graft body adjacent the upstream end as a part of the support framework. The downstream apices and the downstream portion of the struts can be attached to the interior surface of the graft body with only some of the upstream halves and the upstream apices attached to the interior surface of the graft body.
Abstract:
Devices, systems and methods are provided for treating migraine headaches and other conditions by non-invasive electrical stimulation of nerves and other tissue. A hand-held device includes a housing with a controller having a signal generator, an electrode for delivering electrical signals, and a conductive surface configured as a return path for the electrical signals. In certain implementations, the electrode is repositionable with respect to the housing. The patient can self-apply the hand-held device by pressing it against areas in need of pain relief. The device may include a pressure-sensitive gating switch to control delivery of the stimulation therapy. In certain embodiments, the electrode is a rollerball electrode. The device may include a chamber for retaining and dispensing conductive gel to the therapy site. In certain approaches, the device includes an electrode support for coupling an electrical stimulation system to the head for hands-free electrical stimulation therapy.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for modifying stem cells using one or more ZFPs are disclosed. Such methods and compositions are useful for facilitating processes such as, for example, dedifferentiating cells, differentiating stems cells into the desired phenotype, propagating stem cells and/or facilitating cloning.
