摘要: A magnetic conveyance system comprising a support structure having a ferromagnetic capacity and a trolley moveable upon the support structure in a plurality of directions. The trolley may include a trolley frame and at least one attractor cell disposed on the trolley frame. The at least one attractor cell may comprise a housing and at least one magnet, at least one friction reducing load spreading device, and a load transfer member disposed within the housing. The magnet may provide a magnetic attraction force between the trolley and the support structure. The friction reducing load spreading device may comprise a plurality of bearing balls circulating within a reservoir and a channel formed by the load transfer member disposed within the housing. The load transfer member may also include a bearing surface wherein a portion of the plurality of bearing balls is disposed between the bearing surface and the support structure.

摘要: A method for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease in a subject involves exposing the subject for an effective duration to a condition of hypobaric normoxia or hypobaric hyperoxia. An apparatus or system useful for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease includes an airtight chamber configured to accommodate and enclose a subject, and including at least one hatch to allow entry or exit of the subject; a vacuum source for adjusting pressure within the chamber to a level sufficient to maintain hypobaria; and a gas source for introducing one or more gases into the chamber, such as oxygen in an amount sufficient to produce a condition of normoxia or hyperoxia within the chamber, while maintaining hypobaria.

摘要: Described herein are embodiments of a system and a device for performing remote ischemic conditioning that may be configured to treat a subject in accordance with particular usage restrictions and/or a particular treatment protocol. More particularly, in some embodiments a RIC device may include at least two parts, an inflatable cuff to fit around a limb of a subject and a controller that operates the inflatable cuff to inflate and deflate and thus alternate between ischemia and reperfusion of the limb in accordance with a treatment protocol. The inflatable cuff may include a computer-readable storage and that storage may include usage restrictions and/or configuration settings for the controller, to configure the controller to operate the inflatable cuff in accordance with the usage restrictions and to perform a particular treatment protocol when operating the inflatable cuff.
