摘要: An active irrigation system for controlling delivery of irrigation fluid to a surgical site includes a chamber having at least one fluid port for introducing an irrigation fluid from a fluid source into the chamber and delivering the irrigation fluid to a surgical site. A variable pressure source is provided in fluid communication with the chamber and is configured to pressurize the chamber. A pressure sensor also in fluid communication with the chamber monitors the pressure within the chamber and a controller adjusts the variable pressure source to maintain the desired irrigation pressure within the chamber.

摘要: Clot aspiration systems intended for removing clot from a blood vessel include an aspiration assembly which will have two or more of the following components: an aspiration catheter, an inner catheter, an intermediate catheter, and an outer catheter, the latter typically being a guiding or other sheath. A transition structure is coupled to a distal end of the aspiration assembly to cover or fill an open distal end of one or more of the components of the aspiration assembly. The transition structure may be configured to facilitate introduction of the aspiration catheter into the patient's vasculature and/or advancement of the aspiration catheter through the vasculature to a target site, such as a cerebral target site which may be occluded with clot, thrombus, or other occlusive material.

摘要: A fluid management system for use in a tissue resection procedure includes a controller. An inflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid inflow through a flow path to a site in patient's body. An outflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid outflow through a flow path from the site in patient's body. A motor driven resecting device may be provided for resecting tissue at the site. The controller is configured to actuate an inflow pump and an outflow pump in response to various signals and various algorithms are provided to provide malfunction warnings and assure safe operation.

The method comprising, guiding a flexible tube through a passageway of an in vivo subject, wherein the flexible tube comprises at least a first passageway and a second passageway. Positioning a distal end of the first passageway in proximity to the object. Infusing liquid through the second passageway substantially continuously. Removing the object through the first passageway with at least a portion of the liquid while suction is not being provided.

摘要: A system for surgical suction and/or irrigation is provided that can be rendered stiff or flexible. In some embodiments, the system comprises a rod and two flexible and substantially coaligned conduits. A second conduit of the two substantially coaligned conduits can be sealed on a distal end and can have an inner diameter larger than or equal to an outer diameter of the rod. The rod can have a modulus of elasticity of at least 1 mPa. The second conduit can be configured to admit the rod while surgically inserted in a patient and without being removed from the patient. At least a first portion of a first conduit of the two substantially coaligned conduits can be bonded or coextruded to at least a second portion of the second conduit.

摘要: A thrombectomy system includes a catheter having a proximal end and a distal end, a valve in fluid communication with the catheter, and a cutting instrument associated with the distal end of the catheter. The cutting instrument may be configured for axial and/or rotational motion. A controller of the system may be configured to detect operational parameters of the cutting instrument. The controller may determine whether the cutting instrument is engaging with occlusive material based on the detected operational parameters. The controller may operate the valve in one or more operating modes to alter a level of pressure in the catheter based on whether the cutting instrument is engaging with the occlusive material.
