    Abstract: A network design apparatus for designing a network includes a processor; and a memory storing program instructions that cause the processor to receive input of a configuration condition for a network having a communication layer and at least one computing layer, a cost condition for the network, and a demand condition representing uncertain demand for the network, perform an operation for solving an adjustable robust optimization problem in which an objective function is to minimize a sum of a fixed cost and a variable cost for a resource placed at each base in the communication layer and the computing layer, and determine a configuration of the network based on placement and capacity of a resource obtained by the performing of the operation. The demand condition includes a set of one or more bases from which the resource is assignable in response to the demand.

    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for restructuring a predefined distributed real-time simulation network, wherein the simulation network has a plurality of network nodes and a plurality of data connections, wherein each network node has at least one data connection interface for connecting a data connection, wherein the network nodes are at least partially in communication via the data connections, and wherein during operation of the simulation network a simulation application is executed on at least one network node. The method permits a structure for the real-time simulation network to be automatically found in which the critical communication connections are reduced and avoided as much as possible by determining the topology of the simulation network so that topology information concerning the network nodes and the data connections between the network nodes is available by determining expected values for node data rates or node latencies for the network nodes of the simulation network.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to method and system for generating spatial data maps corresponding to a centralized wireless network. The method includes receiving in real-time, network data from each of a plurality of data sources through one or more user space applications; computing in convenient time frame, derived information based on the network data and geographical location of data source; iteratively evaluating the derived information for each of plurality of data points in network data span with missing information through kriging interpolation technique to obtain continuous derived information; for each of data point with missing information in previous iterations, comparing the derived information of current iteration step with the derived information at previous iteration steps to obtain trust score; and generating spatial data map based on geographical location of each of the plurality of data sources and at least one of the continuous derived information and the trust score.

    Abstract: A computer-implemented method for determining a path arrangement of an infrastructure link network with a trunk-and-branch topology. The method includes: modelling a geographic terrain including three or more geographic locations that are connectable with each other via an infrastructure link network; determining a cost function associated with a cost for constructing the infrastructure link network that connects the three or more geographic locations; and determining a path arrangement of the infrastructure link network based on the modelled geographic terrain and by optimizing the cost function taking into account one or more constraints. The path arrangement of the infrastructure link network has a trunk-and-branch topology and includes: three or more infrastructure links that connect the three or more geographic locations, and one or more connection points each arranged between two or more of the infrastructure links.
