    Abstract: Technologies are generally described for activation of actuators based on sensed user characteristics, such as orientation. In some examples, an access control system may be configured to activate an actuator upon determining that an activation device is both in proximity to and has a similar orientation to the actuator. The access control system may be configured to determine orientation similarity by determining an orientation associated with the activation device, determining an orientation associated with the actuator, and comparing a difference between the two orientations to an activation threshold. The actuator may be associated with an entryway such as a building doorway, a room doorway, or a vehicle door, or may be associated with a container such as a safe or vehicle trunk.

    Abstract: Techniques described herein are generally related to data transfer in multi-core processor devices. A core of a multi-core processor device may be configured to receive a request for a data block, which may be stored in a private cache of the core. The data block in the private cache may be evaluated by a coherence module of the core to determine when the data block is in a ready state. A program slice associated with the data block may be identified by the coherence module when the data block is determined to be in an unavailable state and the identified program slice may be executed by the core to update the data block from the unavailable state to the ready state. The data block may be sent to an interconnect network in response to the received request when the stored data block is determined to be in the ready state.

    Abstract: Technologies are generally described to implement intrusion detection based on smart power background. In some examples, upon detection of an attempt to access a resource, a power line ambiance may be determined at a location of a device on which the attempt to access the resource is executed. The power line ambiance may be based on a connection of the device and/or one or more other devices at the location to a power line. The captured/received power profiles may identify device signatures enabling generation of a digest of the location. An intrusion detection system (IDS), may receive the digest of the location and compare the digest to previous digests associated with an authorized client of the resource to evaluate an authenticity of the attempt. If the authenticity of the attempt is suspicious, the IDS may elevate security by employing one or more verification levels and/or one or more authentication techniques.
