    摘要: The electronic watt-hour meter (10) comprises an electro-optical watt-hour sensor (12) adapted to be coupled to a consumer's connection to a source of electric power for sensing voltage supplied to, and the current drawn by, the consumer's electric load and for producing output signals indicative of a quantity of watt-hours of power utilized by the consumer. In the meter (10) a microprocessor (22) is coupled to the sensor (12) for receiving output signals therefrom and a memory (29) is coupled to the microprocessor (22) for receiving and storing data. A power supply (24) supplies D.C. power to the microprocessor (22) and includes a clock signal generator to supply a 60 Hz. clock signal to the microprocessor (22). Also a visual display (30) is coupled to the microprocessor (22) for providing a readout of the power consumed since the last reading of the solid state watt-hour meter. The electro-optical sensor (12) includes a yoke (14) having a voltage core (62) and at least one current core (66 or 67), an induction disk (16) mounted for rotation in yoke (14), a voltage coil (64) in FIG. 1 on the voltage core (62) and a current loop (68 or 69) on the current core (66 or 67) for causing, when energized, rotation of the induction disk (16). At least one aperture (76) in FIG. 2 is provided in the disk (16). LED's (71 and 72), positioned on one side of the disk (16), are coupled to the microprocessor (22). Photosensors (81 and 82) are positioned on the other side of the disk (16) for receiving light passing therethrough and for generating an output signal which is supplied to a direction sensing and revolution counting circuit (90) in FIG. 2 for sensing the direction of rotation of the disk (16) and for supplying such information to the microprocessor (22). A power supply coil (26) is mounted on the yoke (14) for supplying A.C. voltage to the power supply (24).

    摘要: A panel mounted fuseholder has a cylindrical base and a head which fits into and locks unto the base by a shock proof, bayonet connection. The base has a rear terminal and a cylindrical side terminal for connection of the fuseholder in series with the circuit to be protected. The head has an insulative endcap and a conductive bayonet insert. A pair of "U" shaped fingers extend from one edge of the cylindrical side terminal to form the base side of the bayonet connection. The head side is formed by a pair "J" shaped arms which extend from one end of the bayonet insert. Protrusions extend from the interior surface of the bight of the "U" shaped fingers. The protrusions are dimensioned to make continuous contact with the outside surface of the "J" shaped arms when the arms are inserted within the fingers to thereby prevent loss of power to the protected circuit.

A concentric ring segment is mounted on the ring member for movement 360.degree. thereabout. An auxiliary reflector is mounted on the ring segment for movement therewith. Positioning of the auxiliary reflector by movement of the ring segment with respect to the ring member provides a desired "wall wash" illumination pattern. An optional baffle member is receivable on the ring member opposite the auxiliary reflector for blocking light emanating from the reflector housing to be excluded in the "wall wash" illumination pattern.

    摘要: A piggyback code switch which provides a unique digital code for various types of circuits, for example, garage door openers, load management control receivers, etc., is used with dual-in-line packaging diodes or resistor arrays in such a manner as to enable any combination of resistors or diodes to be pulled to a preselected voltage level and thus provide such circuits with a common starting code. A switch comprising an array of pins extending from a conductive base is placed atop a DIP network. Specific DIP resistors are shorted together by selectively removing the pins of the switch in accordance with a prearranged coding plan. This provides each circuit with a unique digital identification code.

    摘要: A three-phase power supply has a current transformer in each power line. The transformer secondary winding is connected to a load. Generally, the load is a control means responsive to the current being sensed. A triac in parallel with the secondary winding and load has its gate connected by a voltage sensitive circuit to sense the corresponding secondary winding voltage and to conduct and protect the transformer in the event of load loss. The gate circuit includes a metal oxide varistor and a linear resistor in series connected in parallel with the secondary winding. A second linear resistor is connected to the common node of the first linear resistor and metal oxide varistor. The second linear resistor is in series with a diac and connects the gate to the common node of the varistor and first resistor. A trigger capacitor is connected between the common node of the second resistor and diac and the opposite end of the first linear resistor. On load loss, the secondary voltage rises and the varistor conducts, rapidly charging the trigger capacitor. The diac then conducts and the trigger capacitor supplies a large but controlled gate current to drive the triac "on." During the opposite half cycle, this cycle repeats until a load draws enough current to keep the secondary voltage within a critical level.

A support shaft upon which the light fixture is mounted has a threaded end portion received in an aperture in the base. A stop adjacent the threaded end portion limits the insertion thereof into the aperture. A rubber washer of a predetermined thickness is received on the threaded end portion of the shaft in abutting relation with the base. A nut, and, if desired, a lock washer, is received on the threaded end portion of the support shaft. The nut is tightened down against the rubber washer to secure the base and support shaft in a joined condition. The shock absorptive arrangement aids in preventing detachment of the magnetic base from the metallic shelf support in the event of the application of force to the upper side of the shelf.

    摘要: A voltage regulating transformer utilizing a microprocessor and a versatile multipurpose set of hardware modules and software modules it is described. A standard tap changing mechanism is driven in response to an analog control signal to change the output voltage of the transformer in response to digitally sampled values of voltage and current which have been transformed from the time domain to the frequency domain through a software program using Fourier transform techniques. The output current is also transformed and digitally processed to determine the power factor and the direction of power flow through the transformer. By inserting the digital values of the line characteristics to the load, line drop compensation is provided for. The difference in voltage across the input and output transformers is transformed to a digital signal and internally processed to provide an indication of the position of the tap changing mechanism without relying upon mechanical devices. The various software and hardware modules are designed so as to be readily utilizable in other electrical distribution controls.

    摘要: A current limiting fuse has a main fusible element and an auxiliary fusible element each helically wound over an insulative support member. Each end of the auxiliary element is connected to conductive metal clips or electrodes in which blocks of metal oxide varistor material are fixedly secured and placed in contact with the main fusible element. Subsequent to the initial burn back of the main fusible element, the metal oxide varistors precisely initiate electrical arcs between the terminal clips at the ends of the auxiliary fusible element and the main element at points adjacent to these terminal clips. The presence of these arcs quickly sever the main element or elements at these points thereby producing additional burnback areas in the main fusible element or elements.

    摘要: An improvement to fault responsive protective devices, which employ timing capacitors, is provided by controlling the voltage of the timing capacitor by clamping it to a value slightly in excess of the voltage on a master timing capacitor. This allows the master timing capacitor to inhibit the operation of the improved fault responsive device without affecting the input to the timing capacitor. The inherent time constant produced by the timing capacitor is not altered. However, by clamping the voltage level of the timing capacitor only under appropriate conditions, the time current characteristic of the improved fault responsive protective device is altered only when those conditions occur which make it desirable to lengthen the interval before the fault responsive protective device responds to a fault.
