An autofocus method determines that a ranging device of a digital camera has failed in an attempt to provide a distance estimation. The ranging device provides one or more parameters indicating conditions related to the failure of the ranging device to provide the distance estimation. An autofocus sequence based on the one or more parameters is then performed.

Embodiments are directed to microfluidic refill cartridges and methods of assembling same. The microfluidic refill cartridges include a microfluidic delivery member that includes a filter for filtering fluid passed therethrough. The filter may be configured to block particles above a threshold size to prevent blockage in the nozzles. For instances, particles having a dimension that is larger than the diameter of the nozzles can block or reduce fluid flow through the nozzle.

A vehicle communication network includes electronic control units arranged in a plurality of groups. The electronic control units pertaining to the same group are coupled to each other via a respective dedicated communication bus. A central controller is coupled to the plurality of local controllers. Electrical loads are coupled to one of the electronic control units. Each of the electronic control units is configured to decode the received CAN frame to produce the actuation signal for a respective electrical load in response to a CAN frame being received from the respective local controller and transmit a CAN wake-up frame to the respective local controller and encode the feedback signal into a CAN frame for transmission to the respective local controller in response to the feedback signal being received from the respective electrical load.

A near-field communication circuit of a first NFC device alternates, in low power mode, between: first phases of emission of field bursts and second phases spanning an entire duration separating two successive first phases. Each second phase includes a field detector enabling phase. In one implementation, the field detector enabling phase extends all along a duration of the second phase. In an alternate implementation, the field detector enabling phase is interrupted by field detector disabling phases. Each field detector disabling phase has a duration shorter than a minimum duration of each first phase.

A control circuit for a voltage source generates a reference signal for a voltage source, wherein the reference signal indicates a requested output voltage to be generated by the voltage source. A digital feed-forward control circuit computes a digital feed-forward regulation value indicative of a requested output voltage by determining a maximum voltage drop at strings of solid-state light sources. A digital feed-back control circuit determines a minimum voltage drop for current regulators/limiters for the strings and determines a digital feed-back correction value as a function of the minimum voltage drop. The control circuit then sets the reference signal after a start-up as a function of the digital feed-forward regulation value and corrects the reference signal as a function of the digital feed-back correction value.

The present disclosure concerns a method of measuring the distance between a device and an object comprising the steps of determination of a first estimated distance based on the time of flight of first light pulses having a first period; determination of a second estimated distance based on the time of flight of second light pulses having a second period different from the first period; determination based on the interval between the first and second estimated distances of whether the device is in a wraparound area among wraparound areas; and if the device is in a wraparound area among wraparound areas, adding to the first estimated distance a compensation having its value depending on the wraparound area.
