摘要: A transmission for an automotive vehicle, including a manually controlled main transmission and an automatically controlled subtransmission. The main transmission includes a main casing within which are rotatably supported a tubular intermediate shaft and a power output shaft, in parallel. Several gear wheels on each of these shafts cooperate, and by their selective engagement various different speed driving ratios may be obtained between the shafts. One end of the intermediate shaft and one end of the power output shaft project from one end of the main casing. A power input shaft passes coaxially through the tubular intermediate shaft and is rotatably supported therein. The ends of the power input shaft project from the ends of the tubular intermediate shaft. The subtransmission includes a subcasing attached to the aforesaid one end of the main casing, and within the subcasing a planetary gear mechanism is arranged between the power input shaft and the tubular intermediate shaft so as, under the control of a fluid pressure actuator, either to couple these two shafts together directly, or to provide an increase of rotational speed from the input shaft to the intermediate shaft. A fluid pressure control device selectively supplies actuating fluid pressure to the actuator, and is located within the subcasing in a position axially opposing the end of the power output shaft. The end of the power input shaft remote from the subcasing is driven. The fluid pressure control device is automatically controlled according to operational parameters of the vehicle to selectively supply fluid pressure to the actuator.

摘要: A transmission has a drive gear shaft disposed coaxially with an input shaft which extends in parallel with an output shaft. Two pairs of meshing gears, one of which constituting a gear train of high speed gear ratio while the other constitutes a gear train of low speed gear ratio, are arranged for the torque transmission from the input shaft to the drive gear shaft. The drive gear shaft is connected to the output shaft through a plurality of meshing speed gear pairs such as first gear pair, second gear pair, third gear pair and fourth gear pair, as in the ordinary transmission. In operation, one of the gear trains of the high speed and low speed gear ratios is selectively engaged, so that each of the speed gears may be operated at either the high speed range or the low speed range. The transmission is small-sized, light weight and less expensive, thanks to the coaxial arrangement of the input shaft and the drive gear shaft and, therefore, can suitably be used in small-sized vehicles having limited installation space preserved for the transmission.

摘要: A flexure has a metal base plate, an insulating layer formed on the metal base plate, a wiring pattern formed on the insulating layer, a read-write head connected to a first end of the wiring pattern, and terminals for external connection that are adjacent to each other and are connected to a second end of the wiring pattern. The flexure includes a hole formed through the insulating layer in the vicinity of respective one of the adjacent terminals and an exposed part being a part of the metal base plate that is exposed through the hole to the terminals. A distance between the respective one of the adjacent terminals and the exposed part exposed through the hole in the vicinity thereof is shorter than a distance between the adjacent terminals.

摘要: A method detects one or more cracks in a piezoelectric element interposed between a pair of electrodes and deforms according to a voltage applied thereto through the pair of electrodes. The method includes steps of applying a voltage at least at a resonance frequency of the piezoelectric element to the piezoelectric element through the pair of electrodes, measuring a dielectric tangent between the pair of electrodes under the applied voltage, and detecting if there are cracks in the piezoelectric element according to the measured dielectric tangent. The dielectric tangent of the piezoelectric element at the resonance frequency has a large peak or no peak depending on whether or not the piezoelectric element has cracks. Accordingly, the method easily and surely detects if the piezoelectric element has cracks according to the dielectric tangent of the piezoelectric element measured at the resonance frequency.

The head suspension has a head to write and read information to and from a recording medium, a load beam to apply load onto the head, a device arranged on the head and operating on low-frequency signals to achieve a function other than the information write/read function at the head, and a flexure attached to the load beam and supporting the head, the flexure including a base material made of a conductive thin plate and a base insulating layer formed on the base material. The wiring structure has a write wiring and a read wiring formed on the base insulating layer and connected to the head, a device wiring formed on the base insulating layer and connected to the device, an intermediate insulating layer on the base insulating layer. The device wiring is formed wider than the read wiring and includes positive/negative wires that are laid one on another with the intermediate insulating layer interposed between the positive/negative wires.
