The device replaces gel for transmitting and receiving ultrasound signals or alternatively encapsulates the gel. The placement device includes a hydrophilic surface that contacts a patient and allows for the transmission and receiving of ultrasound signals. The placement device eliminates the use of gel for easier clean up and optimizes the transmission of ultrasound signals. The placement device includes an adhesive on the patient contacting surface that allows the placement device to adhere to a surface on a patient.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a dosing module (1) for dosing an urea-based reducing agent into a exhaust gas stream of combustion engine and addressed to an after-treatment system, (30) e.g. SCR or SCRT system. The module (1) comprises an housing (20) which develops along a longitudinal axis (X) and an inlet opening (19) for conveying the exhaust gas. Dosage means (55) are provided for dosing the reducing agent. According to the invention, the inlet opening is annular and inclined with respect to the axis (X) of the housing (20) so as to generate an exhaust gas inlet jet (AJ). Moreover the dosage means are designed so as to generate, inside the housing (20), an urea-based reducing agent spray (UWS) coaxial to the axis (X) of the housing (20).

    摘要: A quiescent melt handling system includes a melting furnace and a holding furnace communicating with the melting furnace for holding a molten metal melt. The holding furnace has a relatively large surface area and a relatively shallow depth, having a width to depth ratio in the range of 4-100 to 1. Also provided is structure in the holding furnace for separating inclusions from the melt in the holding furnace. A mold communicates with the holding furnace. A counter gravity casting system, which might comprise a vacuum assisted casting system, draws the melt into the mold.

    摘要: An apparatus for collecting particulate material has a collection tray (1) and a fire-resistant collection reservoir (21, 22, 23). A scraper blade (24) is attached to a carriage (7) which is arranged to be driven by an electrical motor along the base of the tray (1) so as to sweep particulate material into the reservoir (21, 22, 23). A pivotal lid normally closes an opening into the reservoir (21, 22, 23) until the scraper blade is ready to sweep particulate material into the reservoir, whereupon the lid is opened to receive the swept particulate material. Actuation of the lid for the reservoir may be operated by electro-mechanical switches or by a solenoid (60).

    摘要: A shaped metal casting made in an aggregate mold comprises fine solidification microstructure that is finer than the solidification microstructure of an analogous metal casting made from conventional molding processes. The solidification microstructure may be up to five times finer than the solidification microstructure of a conventionally prepared casting. In preferred embodiments, as a result of directional solidification, the fine solidification microstructure is substantially continuous from a distal end of the casting to a proximal end of the casting, and exhibits greatly enhanced soundness. Because of the control of the uniformity of freezing of the casting, its properties are substantially uniform.
