摘要: A laser multibeam printer or recorder includes a laser diode array generating multiple modulated parallel and diverging light beams with predetermined light intensities at any instant of time. Optical means reduce the divergence of the parallel light beams from the laser diode array by a predetermined amount, do not focus the light beams in a first cross-section direction along a width of the laser diode array, and focus the light beams onto a plane of an entrance pupil of a printing lens in a second cross-sectional direction normal to the first cross-sectional direction. A separate lenslet of a lenslet array directs a corresponding light beam from the laser diode array towards a predetermined area on a plane in front of the printing lens (e.g., the entrance pupil) in the first cross-sectional direction, and focuses the light beam onto the plane of the entrance pupil in a second cross-sectional direction. The printing lens images the light beams at the entrance pupil onto a light sensitive media as a corresponding array of closely-spaced spots of data with predetermined intensities. Various other arrangements using a field lens in combination with the lenslet array with or without a micro lenslet array can be used to process light beams and form an image of closely-spaced spots of light on the light sensitive media.

摘要: A method and apparatus for coupling a multi-mode diode laser with an optical fiber suitable for incorporation into fiber optic medical instruments, welding equipment, laser copiers, laser printers and facsimile machines. In one embodiment, light emitting from a diode laser 40 is collected by collecting optics. One-half of the light which passes through the collecting optics is passed through a half-wave plate 44 which rotates the polarization of that light which passes through the half-wave plate 44 thereby producing two distinct beams of polarized light (43,49). The two beams of light then pass through a Wollaston or Rochon prism 46 which causes the two beams to overlap upon exiting the prism, where the exiting light is allowed to enter an optical fiber 48. In another embodiment, one-half of the light emitted from a laser diode 40 is rotated by a half-wave plate 44. Both rotated and non-rotated light is then passed through collecting optics and subsequently through a double refractor 50 such that the rotated and non-rotated light is overlapped onto one another and then subsequently inserted into an optical fiber 48.

摘要: A high resolution scanner is disclosed which is adapted to digitally record an image from photographic film. The scanner comprises a folded integrating sphere which projects illumination on the film as the film is moved relative to the integrating sphere. Light transmitted through the film is directed to a photodetector by an optical system. In order to produce an aberration-free image on the photodetector, the illumination projected on the film is in the form of an arc, and a unit magnification optical system transmits light to a photodetector having image sensor elements arranged in an arc.

摘要: In a preferred system a light source provides a light beam which illuminates a film image. A lens is placed in the path of the light beam to focus the image from the film on to a tri-linear color sensor. The length of each of the image sensors and spacing between sensor elements is selected in order to correct for distortions lateral chromatic aberrations in the line scan direction. Longitudinal chromatic aberrations are corrected by tilting the tri-linear sensor in the image plane to align the center of focus for the red, green and blue sensors with the center of focus for the red, green and blue components of the beam, respectively.

摘要: An optical scanner is disclosed for scanning a light beam onto a receiving medium. The scanner includes a rotatable polygon for receiving a light beam from a source and for scanning the beam through a predetermined angle, and optical means between the polygon and receiving medium for directing the beam to the receiving medium. In order to provide an optical system which produces the desired results at the image plane and is relatively simple to manufacture, two spherical lenses and a cylindrical mirror are interposed between the polygon and receiving medium.

摘要: A volumetric imaging apparatus is energizable to form an image onto a display surface as an input to a monocentric catadioptric imaging apparatus having a light path for image-bearing light from the display surface, wherein the light path extends substantially symmetrically to a vertical plane that extends through a curved relay mirror and a curved primary mirror. The monocentric catadioptric imaging apparatus has reflective surfaces to fold the light path between the curved relay mirror and the curved primary mirror to condition the distribution of the image-bearing light in a horizontal direction. The light path of the monocentric catadioptric imaging apparatus directs light from the curved primary mirror toward a light input surface of a vertical pupil expander that has a light exit surface that is substantially orthogonal to the vertical plane. The light exit surface directs light through a free-form corrector for convergence and toward a windshield for display.

摘要: A Web-based Electronic Controlled Substance (CS) Transfer Management System and Method designed to fully comply with the DEA requirements for a prescription of controlled substances. The system and method allows the buyer to securely order and confirm the receipt of the controlled substances over an existing Internet infrastructure of the buyer such as a Web browser as the buyer's software, thus avoiding the necessity of any additional proprietary software or hardware to be built and installed onto the buyer's computer. The system and method further utilizes various validation functions, related to signing the controlled substance prescription with the utilization of the PKI certificate therefore, completely eliminating the necessity of the paper DEA 222 Form. The transfer of the controlled substances is managed through a secured database server, wherein signed validated orders are posted for fulfillment and reporting to the DEA.

摘要: A see-through head-mounted optical apparatus for a viewer has at least one display module, each display module having a display energizable to form an image and a positive field lens optically coupled to the surface of the display and disposed to direct imaged light from the display toward a first surface of a prism. A curved reflector element is in the path of the imaged light through the prism and disposed at a second surface of the prism, opposite the first surface. The curved reflector element has a refractive surface and a curved reflective surface disposed to collimate imaged light received from the display and direct this light toward a beam splitter that is disposed within the prism and that is at an oblique angle to the collimated reflected light. The beam splitter redirects the incident collimated reflected light through the prism to form an entrance pupil for the viewer.

摘要: An afocal beam relay has a concave reflective surface having a first center of curvature and a first vertex that define an optical axis. A convex reflective surface has a second center of curvature that is substantially coincident with the first center of curvature and a second vertex that lies along the optical axis. The convex reflective surface faces toward the concave reflective surface to relay a decentered entrance pupil to a decentered exit pupil. An aspheric corrector element is disposed in the path of input light that is directed to the decentered entrance pupil and has correction values that are substantially centered on the first center of curvature.
