    摘要: A nickel cathode has a nickel oxide layer on its surfaces. A plurality of spaced apart grooves are in the nickel oxide layer and extend into the nickel. The cathode can be utilized in a water photolysis apparatus which also includes an N type photocatalytic semiconductor anode. Both the cathode and anode are in an aqueous basic electrolyte solution. The anode and cathode are electrically biased by a solar cell. The biasing potential of the solar cell raises the voltage potential of the cathode and lowers the Fermi level of the anode.

    摘要: Controlling a hybrid vehicle includes: reducing a rotation speed of a motor generator before a locking apparatus that locks the motor generator is switched from a disengaged condition to an engaged condition; starting to switch the locking apparatus to the engaged condition when the rotation speed decreases to a predetermined operation permission rotation speed; controlling the locking apparatus such that from the start of the switch to the engaged condition onward, the rotation speed decreases from the operation permission rotation speed to an engagement rotation speed with the motor generator in the engaged condition; and controlling the locking apparatus such that a decrease rate of the rotation speed when switching from the disengaged condition to the engaged condition in a low torque operation mode is higher than the decrease rate of the rotation speed when switching from the disengaged condition to the engaged condition in a high torque operation mode.

    摘要: An input device contains a resistance-element series formed by series-connected resistance elements, low resistors opposing the resistance elements, an operating object which brings one of the low resistors into contact with one of the resistance elements and changes the contact area therebetween, an output point at the midpoint between resistance elements, and a controller. When the resistance element and low resistor are not in contact, the input device enters a sleep mode in which the resistance-element series or low resistors have a high potential and the other a low potential. In the sleep mode, determination that the operating object has been operated occurs when a change in voltage or current on the low potential side is detected. A voltage is applied across ends of the resistance-element series, and the device enters a detection mode in which the output is based on the contact area change.

This allows measuring respiratory function to diagnose an obstructive pulmonary disease, a restrictive pulmonary disease, and the like in a natural state, for a subject of a breathing animal, even if the subject does not have a sense of self-awareness.
