摘要: The present invention is predicated upon methods and devices for forming numerous articles for various applications including nutritional applications, medicinal applications, or other useful applications for plants, animals or otherwise. In one aspect, the present invention provides methods and devices for forming high quality pellets using alginates as a retention agent for the ingredients. This may be achieved through the creation or modification of pre-existing forming devices, wherein an alginate applicator is provided for applying the alginate to the ingredients, before, during or after formation of the articles, or combinations thereof, to retain the ingredients of the articles together.

摘要: A feed block is formed of compacted feed components with a coating of oils or fats that causes the compacted feed components to separate and the feed block to break apart during liquid absorption making the feed block accessible to the animals. Feed blocks have an initial weight that is substantially free of liquid. Liquid is then introduced to the feed block to cause the feed block to absorb liquid and break apart. After a treatment period during which liquid is absorbed into the feed block, a final resulting weight of the feed block is at least 100 percent greater than the initial weight. The feed block with the broken apart feed components and absorbed liquid is provided the to the animals for the simultaneous ingestion of feed and liquid. Feed blocks are formed by introducing feed components coated with the oils or fats in a high pressure press and compacting the coated feed components to form the feed block.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for identifying a pepsin resistant alpha amylase enzyme for use in a feed supplement comprising: i) providing an alpha amylase enzyme; ii) admixing said alpha amylase with corn based feed and buffer solution comprising a pepsin concentration of 9000 U/ml at pH 3, 40° C., 500 rpm for at least 120 minutes and analysing alpha amylase activity on said alpha amylase compared to a control sample; wherein said control sample differs in that no pepsin is present during incubation; and iii) selecting an alpha amylase enzyme which substantially maintains alpha amylase activity under the assay conditions; feed supplements and feedstuffs comprising a pepsin resistant alpha amylase and the use of pepsin resistant alpha amylases in feed.

摘要: A system for the production of ethanol and co-products is provided. The system facilitates an overall reduction in the use of energy, for example, by reducing the mass of wet solids supplied to a distillation system. The system also reduces the amount of energy used to dry the wet solids component of a fermentation product, for example, by increasing the ethanol concentration of the wet solids. The system also facilitates the recovery of co-products including bioproducts and other biochemicals extracted from components of the fermentation product. The solids component of the fermentation product may be dried and constituted into a meal that may be used for animal feed, among other uses.

摘要: A nutritionally suitable, semi-moist animal foodstuff which is similar to natural animal food meats and having a very high meat content is provided, which has good acceptance with the animal food animal and a corresponding structure. The semi-moist animal food product does not need cereal contents, cereal products and binders. The novel semi-moist animal food product is produced by extrusion cooking, wherein the extruder is charged at least with the following ingredients: a) at least one component of the group dry meat, meat meal, dry fish, fish meal, b) meat and/or fish, c) optionally water or steam, where not introduced by or in combination with a) or b). Components a), b) and c) together make up at least 80% by weight of the ingredient mass. In addition, additives, such as flavourings, probiotics and the like can be present.
