Abstract:
A method of manufacturing synthesis gas by catalytic partial oxidation can prevent formation of hot spots from taking place when driving mixture gas to pass through a catalyst-filled layer at high velocity. The method comprises converting mixture gas of source gas containing lower hydrocarbons and oxidative gas containing oxygen into synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide as main components thereof by causing mixture gas to flow through a fixed bed catalyst layer arranged in a reactor. The method of manufacturing synthesis gas by catalytic partial oxidation is conducted such that the mixture gas is made to flow to the catalyst layer under the condition that the Reynolds number does not exceed 20 at the inlet of the catalyst layer.

Abstract:
In order to provide a chemical reaction apparatus that can suppress a situation where microwaves are concentrated on a partial portion in a reactor, and that can more uniformly irradiate a content with the microwaves, a chemical reaction apparatus includes: a horizontal flow-type reactor in which a liquid content horizontally flows with an unfilled space being provided thereabove; a microwave generator that generates microwaves; and a waveguide that transmits the microwaves generated by the microwave generator to the unfilled space in the reactor, wherein a top of the reactor is curved with respect to a flow direction of the content.

The invention relates to synthesis of methyl carbamate (MC) and dimethyl carabonate (DMC) in presence of stripping inert gas or superheated methanol vapors using packed column reactor and bubble column reactor.
Abstract:
The present invention describes a thin layer fixed bed reactor intended for chemical treatments, in particular reduction of a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis catalyst. The reactor is designed in the form of similar, compact modules and operates with a ratio of linear pressure drop to outlet pressure which falls within certain limits.
Abstract:
Disclosed are reactors and reaction processes for contacting hydrocarbon reactant in the presence of oxygen stored and released within a thermal mass region of the reactor, and catalytically converting at least a portion of alkane, e.g., methane, in the hydrocarbon reactant to produce a reaction mixture comprising a C5+ composition. Oxygen storage and release for carrying out the catalytic conversion is achieved by including an oxygen storage material in a thermal mass region of the reactor. Flow-through reactors can be used to carry out oxygen storage and the hydrocarbon conversion reactions. Reverse-flow reactors are examples of flow-through reactors, which can be used to carry out oxygen storage and the hydrocarbon conversion reactions.
Abstract:
A fuel reformer which can easily achieve high weight energy density and high volume energy density, and a method for producing the fuel reformer with ease and high efficiency as well as an electrode for electrochemical device, such as a fuel cell, and an electrochemical device are provided. The present invention is to feed hydrogen obtained from a fuel reformer having a catalyst layer containing Pt for taking out hydrogen from a liquid fuel, such as methanol, and a hydrogen permeable layer, such as a Pd thin film, which is impermeable to liquid and permeable to hydrogen to an electrochemical device such as a fuel cell, which comprises a negative electrode, a positive electrode and a proton conductive film sandwiched therebetween. The present invention provides a method of producing the hydrogen permeable layer in the reformer 1 by forming the hydrogen permeable layer and the catalyst layer on a base layer comprising Al or the like, and removing the base layer by dissolution.
