Abstract:
A milling apparatus for mounting and moving curtains that contain scale, water and/or other debris within a hood structure. The hood structure can form a housing that contains fixed metal curtains and/or movable metal curtains. The movable metal curtain can include a cartridge attached to the movable metal curtain. The cartridge can be attached to the movable metal curtain. The cartridge can be attached to and/or mounted on or with respect to a support, such as a support structure mounted and/or fixed with respect to the housing. A lock can be used to selectively secure the position of the cartridge with respect to the support.
Abstract:
A method for creating an improved coiled tubing is provided, comprising cleaning a sheet metal workpiece using an electroplasma process to remove oxide scale and other contaminants on surfaces of the workpiece; applying a first metal coating to the workpiece using the electroplasma process; forming the sheet metal workpiece into a tube having abutting edges to form a seam; welding the seam to complete the formation of the tube; grinding the seam to establish a smooth exterior surface on the seam; applying a second metal coating to the seam of the tube using the electroplasma process; and coiling the tube around a spool.
Abstract:
A system and method for adjusting dipping time in a continuous steel pipe manufacturing line. The system manufactures a steel pipe of which inner and outer faces or any one face thereof is subjected to molten metal-plating from a steel sheet in a continuous manufacturing line, and includes an inner-face plating performing part for molten metal-plating by pouring molten metal to the upper side of the steel sheet corresponding to the inner face of the steel pipe, a steel pipe forming part that obtains a continuous steel pipe by continuously cold-forming the steel sheet subjected to the inner-face plating into a tubular shape and seam-welding a longitudinal end face joint portion of the steel sheet formed in the steel pipe, and an outer-face plating performing part for molten metal-plating by dipping the outer face of the steel pipe into the molten metal, in which a dipping length of the molten metal is adjusted in the inner-face plating performing part and/or the outer-face plating performing part.
Abstract:
A system and method for cleaning the work rolls of a multi-roll leveler. The system includes a roll cleaning drive system for driving one or both of a set of upper and lower work rolls against a cleaning pad placed therebetween. The roll cleaning drive system is disengageable with the work rolls to be driven thereby. The upper and lower work rolls are driven in opposite rotational directions so as not to eject the cleaning pad from the leveler. The rotational direction of the upper and lower work rolls may be periodically reversed to produce a scrubbing action on the work rolls.
Abstract:
A method of cleaning the circumferential outer surface of a welded metal pipe focuses a laser beam above the level of the surface and melts, evaporates and/or sublimates extraneous materials and flaws present on the surface of the pipe.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a aluminum pipe production method comprising an extrusion step for obtaining an aluminum raw pipe (10) and a drawing step for executing a drawing process of the aluminum raw pipe (10). Before executing the drawing step a slug removing step for removing aluminum slugs (1) adhering to a surface of the aluminum raw pipe (10) is executed by rubbing off the aluminum slugs (1). This can provide an aluminum pipe production method capable of preventing generation of defect protrusions while improving the productivity.
Abstract:
An apparatus for treating the outer surface of a metal wire being moved through the apparatus along a direction of longitudinal extension of the metal wire has two electrodes arranged at a distance in the direction of longitudinal extension of the metal wire, a gas room being arranged between the outer surface of the metal wire to be treated and said electrodes, a dielectric shielding for said electrodes shielding said electrodes towards the metal wire, and an alternating voltage generator generating an alternating high voltage between said two electrodes to provide a dielectric barrier discharge in said gas room above the outer surface of the metal wire. The metal wire serves as an intermediate electrode between said two electrodes.
Abstract:
An oil removing device for cleaning pipes that are present in the form of coils in a furnace that accommodates and heats the pipes, with or without associated cooling zone, has a gas guiding device for feeding a scavenging gas to or removing it from the pipes. The gas guiding device is provided with connections for detachably and sealingly linking with a gas feed line and a gas discharge line. Ends of every pipe are separately connected to one and the same connecting head that has a gas inlet and a gas outlet opening the axially aligned therewith. The end of the gas feed line and the end of the gas discharge line are opposite each other and can be displaced along with the gas inlet opening and/or the gas outlet opening while sealingly connected.
