    摘要: A pressure vessel for containing fluid at very high pressures is formed from an axially aligned array or stack of like, flexible, relatively thin, dished discs, i.e., Belleville springs. The discs are clamped together axially, so as to flatten them into a pressure vessel wall structure which is pre-stressed in hoop compression along a bore formed by the aligned inner peripheries of the discs, and in hoop tension along the aligned outer peripheries of the discs. Such pre-stress pattern is particularly well adapted to permit the pressure vessel to support very high fluid pressures within the pressure vessel bore. A liner tube may be located within the bore formed by the aligned inner peripheries of the discs, while any suitable end closing mechanisms, e.g., a die assembly and a piston, may be employed to close the axially opposite ends of the pressure vessel bore.

    摘要: An organic composite gas storage tank 100 comprises a hollow central portion 106 which is substantially cylindrical and formed integrally with first and second end portions 102, 104, and which defines a longitudinal tank axis 101. The first end portion 102 comprises a hollow truncated conical region 102A which meets the hollow central portion at a first end thereof, and a cylindrical region 102B which meets an end of the hollow truncated conical portion remote from the hollow central portion. An organic fibre winding 107 extends at least between axial positions which coincide with the hollow truncated conical region of the first end portion and the hollow central portion respectively. A hollow metal end-fitting 120 has a hollow truncated conical portion 124 embedded within the wall of the hollow truncated conical region of the first end portion, providing a long leakage path around the metal end-fitting.

    摘要: A tank including an enclosure including a tubular body and first and second end walls at the ends of the tubular body, a plurality of equipment units positioned in the enclosure, at least one equipment support to which the equipment units are connected positioned in the enclosure and connected to the enclosure and a method of manufacturing this tank. The equipment units are fixed to the equipment support outside the enclosure, which simplifies putting them into place and limits the risks of damage. Moreover, they are all introduced into the enclosure at the same time, which makes it possible to reduce the time to manufacture the tank.
