    摘要: Disclosed are nucleated red blood cell warning devices and methods, and flow cytometers using the same. The devices, methods and flow cytometers can warn whether nucleated red blood cells exist in a blood sample. The warning device may obtain forward-scattered light information, side-scattered light information and fluorescence information when cells in the blood sample pass through a detection region of the flow cytometer. The warning device may generate a side-scattered light-fluorescence dot plot, so as to classify leucocytes into four groups, and may generate a forward-scattered light-fluorescence dot plot, where the forward-scattered light-fluorescence dot plot can include a leucocyte group region. The warning device may obtain a predetermined feature region located at the left side of the leucocyte group region, perform statistics on the amount of characterization cells in the predetermined feature region, and provide a warning when the number of the characterization cells exceeds a threshold value.

    摘要: Transducer modules for use in a blood analysis instrument and methods for analyzing a blood sample. The transducer modules presented generally include a light source, a focus-alignment system, a flow cell, and a light scatter detection system. Electrodes within the flow cell allow for the measurement of the DC impedance and RF conductivity of cells passing through a cell-interrogation zone in the flow cell. Light scatter from the cells passing through the cell-interrogation zone is measured by the light scatter detection system. The light scatter detection system measures the light scatter parameters of upper median light scatter, lower median angle light scatter, low angle light scatter, and axial light loss. The presented methods for analyzing a blood sample generally include aspirating a whole blood sample into a blood analysis instrument, preparing the blood sample for analysis, passing the blood sample through a flow cell in a transducer system, and measuring axial light loss, multiple angles of light scatter, DC impedance and/or RF conductivity.

Further disclosed are the methods of using these parameters for detection of absolute iron deficiency, latent iron deficiency, functional iron deficiency, or latent functional iron deficiency. Also disclosed is a method of using RSf for detection of hemochromatosis.
