    摘要: A method of identifying and classifying non-small-cell lung carcinoma in a biological sample includes a first test wherein the expression level of at least one biomarker is measured in a sample, the at least one=biomarker is selected from a first group consisting of chaperonin, 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate mutase, thymidine phosphorylase, and minichromosome maintenance deficient protein 5, and comparing the measured expression levels against a normal expression level, wherein a significant difference diagnoses or aids in the diagnosis of non-small cell lung carcinoma; and a second test wherein the expression level of at least one biomarker is measured in the sample, the at least one biomarker is selected from a second group consisting of selenium binding protein and Napsin A, and comparing the measured expression level against a normal expression level, wherein a significant difference confirms or aids in confirmation of Non-Small Cell Carcinoma.

    摘要: Methods for generating chemiluminescence rapidly by reaction of at least one compound comprising a C—C double bond substituted at one carbon with two sulfur atom-containing groups with a peroxidase enzyme and a peroxide are disclosed. The chemiluminescence thus produced can be used as a detectable signal in assays for peroxidase enzymes or peroxide-producing enzymes and in assays employing enzyme-labeled specific binding pairs. Use of the methods provides rapid signal generation, achieving a plateau intensity in under one minute. The substrate can be provided in a composition which demonstrates unexpectedly long storage stability.

    摘要: A process is described for preparing, efficiently and with a high degree of purity N-alkylsulfonates of phenothiazine. The process consists in (a) the preparation of the phenothiazine anion, and (b) the reaction of said anion with cyclic alkyl sulfonates, such as 1,3-propane sultone and 1,4-butane sultone. This process is simpler, more direct, and more efficient than the procedures currently used for the synthesis of N-alkylsulfonates derivatives of phenothiazine. In addition, the products obtained with this process are far more pure than those obtained through current procedures and therefore ideal for bioanalytical applications that require high sensitivity, such as assays based on the measurement of peroxidase activity using chemiluminescence.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods and kits for measuring in situ the activity and amount of an enzyme in a sample using a single measurement system. The method includes the steps of: (a) contacting a sample to a capturing agent having the capacity to bind to the enzyme to be analyzed and immobilized on a solid matrix; (b) measuring the activity of the enzyme captured by the capturing agent; (c) contacting a detection antibody specific to the enzyme captured by the capturing agent; and (d) detecting an antigen-antibody complex formed in the step (c). There is no need for separate measurement system to measure the activity and amount of an enzyme, as well as the above methods and kits permit to measure the precise activity and amount of an enzyme simultaneously because the measurement of enzyme activity and amount is carried out in a single and same measurement system as to the same sample in almost simultaneous manner.

    摘要: The present invention refers to a method for inducing tumor apoptosis by influencing the ROS (reactive oxygen species) signaling pathway in tumor cells. Increasing the level of ROS leads to the selective inactivation of a tumor cell catalase and subsequently to an apoptosis of these cells. The level of ROS can be increased by increasing the level of nitric oxide through inhibition of the enzymes nitric oxide dioxygenase or arginase.According to the present invention inhibitors of the nitric oxide dioxygenase or arginase can be used for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of cancer. The present invention further provides a method for identifying compounds which can be used for the treatment of cancer, wherein the method allows to specifically identify compounds which induce apoptosis through the ROS signaling pathway. The present invention also provides a kit for identifying compounds which induce tumor apoptosis by inactivating a catalase on the tumor cell surface.
