    摘要: A transformer monitor includes a housing and at least two connectors. The housing has a first end and a second end opposite the first end. A first connector is positioned proximate the housing’s first end and configured for connection to a first cable assembly that outputs signals representative of a primary input current to the transformer. A second connector is positioned proximate the housing’s second end and configured for connection to a second cable assembly that outputs signals representative of a secondary output current of the transformer. The connectors are oriented such that the first cable assembly extends away from the housing’s first end in a first direction when the cable assembly is connected to the first connector and the second cable assembly extends away from the housing’s second end in a second direction generally opposite to the first direction when the cable assembly is connected to the second connector.

    摘要: A system and method for determining when an electronic interrupting device will open in response to detecting overcurrent, where the interrupting device protects a transformer in a power distribution network. The method includes obtaining a time/current through fault protection curve that is defined by a plurality of time/current points for the transformer that identifies when the transformer may experience thermal or mechanical damage in response to a certain current flow over a certain time in the transformer windings, selecting a time multiplier, and determining an operating curve for the interrupting device by multiplying the multiplier and a time portion of each of the plurality of time/current points on the through fault protection curve, where the operating curve identifies when the interrupting device will open in response to a certain current flow over a certain time.

    摘要: A current transformer includes a housing including generally cylindrical outer and inner walls defining an internal chamber, a front face enclosing one end of the internal chamber, a base, and a central opening defined by the inner wall. A generally toroidal current transformer core is disposed within the internal chamber. A secondary wiring is disposed about the transformer core and is configured to generate a current in response to magnetic flux in the transformer core. A pin housing is disposed on the front face of the housing adjacent the base. The pin housing has electrically conductive pins. A test wire passes through the central opening. The secondary wiring is electrically connected to a first pair of the pins and the test wire is electrically connected to a second pair of the pins.
