    摘要: A near-field optical probe has a hole penetrating through a substrate and defining a microscopic aperture at an apex thereof for generating or scattering near field light. The probe is simple and inexpensive to produce and may be manufactured in an array form by forming plural holes in the substrate so that it may be used in an optical memory device. A lens is disposed above the microscopic aperture for focusing incident light and a light source is arranged thereover to introduce light to the lens. A focal point of the lens is positioned at the microscopic aperture, so that the light emitted by the light source can be efficiently collected at the microscopic aperture. The structure can be mass produced using known silicon processing techniques, thus being adapted for use as an optical memory head.

    摘要: An opto-electronic data acquisition and storage system, having a light source for directing light along a predetermined light path, a light sensitive electronic memory, a light absorber, a spatial optical storage device being positioned to receive reflected light and to direct the reflected light to the light sensitive electronic memory and a digital light processor having an array of electronically positioned micro-mirrors each being selectively oriented to a reflecting position to reflect light from the light source along a reflected fight path to the spatial optical storage device for data storage and being selectively oriented to reflect light from said source to the light absorber when the reflected light is not intended for storage. This invention also includes an opto-electronic circuit for electronic signal and data processing and storage, having a layered electronic circuit matrix having a plurality of light sensitive layers each having a multiplicity of electronic circuit components being sensitive to light of a predetermined wave-length. The light system generates light beams of differing wave-length; and controls the light beams to program an infinite variety of electronic circuits within the light sensitive layers of the electronic circuit matrix.

    摘要: The holographic digital data storage system is compatible with a CD/DVD player. A polarization direction of the beam is altered by a first wave plate and the size of the polarized beam is expanded by a beam expander. The expanded beam is split into a vertical polarized beam and a horizontal polarized beam by a polarization splitter; a polarization direction of the horizontal polarized beam is altered by a second wave plate. An optical path of the vertical polarized beam is adjusted by a first mirror to generate a first path-controlled beam; an optical path of a third directional polarized beam is controlled by a second mirror to generate a second path-controlled beam; the first and the second path-controlled beams are concentrated by using a first and a second lenses, respectively; and the interference of two beams is recorded on a medium.

    摘要: A method and a system for generating optical waveforms from electrical signals is disclosed. An input electrical signal is sampled to obtain a single channel data which is converted to multi-channel data. The multi-channel data is converted to multi-channel electrical pulses which are input along with a light source output into a switch array containing optical switches to obtain a multi-channel optical waveform made up of a plurality of optical waveforms. These waveforms are superpositioned to generate a stacked optical pulse. Alternatively, the multi-channel data may be converted to a multi-channel optical pulses. The stacked optical pulse may be used to write data to a storage medium.
