    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for tailoring theology of an aqueous or water-borne coating composition using a system comprising an amount of a first hydrophobically modified polymer comprising a polymer backbone modified with a first hydrophobe and an amount of a second hydrophobically modified polymer comprising the first hydrophobically modified polymer further modified with a second hydrophobe. By incorporating a system comprising at least two hydrophobically modified polymers into water-borne coatings where the amount of all of the hydrophobically modified polymers are able to be independently adjusted, the resultant coatings may be tailored to attain a desired combination of Stormer or Brookfield viscosity and ICI viscosity.

    摘要: The invention is directed to a co-crystallized product and a method of making the product. The product comprises a polyol and a hydrogenated maltodextrin that have been co-crystallized together. The co-crystallization of polyols and hydrogenated maltodextrin according to the invention provides a sweetener product that is sucrose-free, yet has a reduced sensory cooling effect compared to the original polyol(s). The reduced sensory cooling effect is due to an increase of the heat of solution that is observed when polyols are co-crystallized with hydrogenated maltodextrin. Because the product of the invention is a sucrose-free sweetener that does not demonstrate the strong sensory cooling effect typically found with polyol sweeteners, the invention has a wide variety of applications which previously are not available for polyol sweeteners.

    摘要: A process for protecting a surface from non-desired contamination and for facilitating removal of said contamination from said surface, characterized by the steps: a) preparing a solution of polysaccharides containing at least two components, wherein one component is constituted by a first polysaccharide which, when precipitated from a solution by evaporation of the solvent thereof, directly forms a film and wherein the second component is constituted by a second polysaccharide which, when precipitated from a solution by evaporation of the solvent thereof, forms a film via at least partial gel formation, or by interaction with said first polysaccharide, said films being redissolvable or swellable: b) applying the solution from step a) onto said surface before subjected to contamination: c) allowing the applied solution to dry so as to form a solid film on said surface via at least partial gel formation: d) treating the film-coated surface with a liquid capable of redissolving film or provided swelling thereof: and e) removing the non-desired contamination by complete or partial removal of the film from the surface.
