摘要: A smart speaker power controller may be configured to receive power conforming to one of a plurality of power modes from an input power source. The power controller may be further configured to communicate the power mode to at least one component of a processing system or at least one component of an audio system for operating the smart speaker according to the received power mode, including determining a current limit of a power converter; determining a shutdown voltage threshold and safely shutting down the smart speaker if the input voltage falls below the threshold, and/or modifying audio operation of the smart speaker in response to the power mode. The smart speaker can further include an audio power supply controller configured to monitor energy required to reproduce an audio signal and to servo a power supply voltage provided to an audio amplifier in response to this energy level.

摘要: Various technologies described herein pertain to variable gain amplification for a sensor application. A multistage variable gain amplifier system provides variable gain amplification of an input signal. The multistage variable gain amplifier system includes a plurality of amplification stages. The multistage variable gain amplifier system further includes a power detector configured to detect a power level of an input signal received by the multistage variable gain amplifier system. The multistage variable gain amplifier system also includes a controller configured to control the amplification stages based on the power level of the input signal. The multistage variable gain amplifier system can output an output signal such that the amplification stages are controlled to adjust a gain applied to the input signal by the multistage variable gain amplifier system to output the output signal.

摘要: An integrated system for hearing protection and enhancement having earpieces including microphones and receivers to provide for user control of ambience level (mic gain), monitor input, control over limiting of excessive levels, and frequency equalization, all with very wide input dynamic range capability and controlled output dynamic range. The user control comprises a wired or wireless smartphone app. Also, the wide input dynamic range is achieved by placement of limiter circuitry capable of handling the entire input dynamic range prior to the most dynamic range limited circuit blocks: digital EQ block, output amplifier, earpiece receiver, and the users' ears. Switches allow combining left and right signals to be directed to a user's favored ear, if necessary.

The amplifier circuit can further include a bias circuit configured to provide a bias signal to the amplifier. The amplifier circuit can further include a protection circuit configured to generate a detected voltage representative of a peak of a radio-frequency signal present at the input node. The protection circuit can be further configured to enable a protection mode when the detected voltage is greater than a first threshold value and to disable the protection mode when the detected voltage is less than a second threshold value that is less than the first threshold value.

An example method includes obtaining, via one or more temperature sensors carried by the playback device, temperature data. Based on the temperature data, a first temperature parameter is detected. In response to detecting the first temperature parameter, a gain of audio playback is decreased by a first amount. After decreasing the gain of audio playback by the first amount, a second temperature parameter is detected. In response to detecting the second temperature parameter, the gain of audio playback is decreased by a second amount different than the first amount.

摘要: A sound system includes a sound source having an analogue audio signal output and a sound volume control; signal amplifier apparatus (10) comprising an analogue signal input (12) configured to be coupled to the analogue audio signal output of the sound source, an analogue signal output (18) and an amplifier module (62) coupled between the signal input and the signal output. The amplifier module (62) has a fixed amplification gain within a range of 10 to 12 decibels. Control of the audio signal is effected solely by the sound volume control of the sound source. The amplifier module (64) also provides a fixed gain bass boost of 6 decibels. The system provides linear amplification and allows a user to reduce the volume of the sound source, which significantly reduces signal distortion. Volume control is at the sound source and not at the amplifier module, which optimises amplification quality and reduces the power requirement of the amplifier apparatus (10).
