Abstract: A Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellite belonging to a constellation of satellites of a BeiDou navigation system is acquired at a GNSS receiver. The acquisition includes finding the edge of a data bit in a signal carrying a data stream of a given satellite in order to start a locked tracking phase and demodulating said data stream of the GEO satellite. Detecting the edge of the data bit includes performing at the GNSS receiver a coherent power accumulation over a constant data cycle, starting from two respective possible initial positions in the sequence of data. Detecting the edge of the data bit also includes computing a tracking ratio parameter as the ratio of the two coherent power accumulations multiplied by a constant value.

Abstract: A control device for a converter of the switched-mode type provided with an inductor element and a switch element generates a driving signal for controlling switching of the switch element and determining alternately a phase of storage of energy in the inductor element as a function of an input quantity and a phase of transfer of the energy stored in the inductor element to an output element on which an output quantity is present; the control device generates the driving signal by means of a control based on the value of the output quantity in order to regulate the same output quantity. In particular, an estimation block determines an estimated value of the output quantity, and a driving block generates the driving signal as a function of said estimated value.

Abstract: A switching device, such as a barrier junction Schottky diode, has a body of silicon carbide of a first conductivity type housing switching regions of a second conductivity type. The switching regions extend from a top surface of the body and delimit body surface portions between them. A contact metal layer having homogeneous chemical-physical characteristics extends on and in direct contact with the top surface of the body and forms Schottky contact metal portions with the surface portions of the body and ohmic contact metal portions with the switching regions. The contact metal layer is formed by depositing a nickel or cobalt layer on the body and carrying out a thermal treatment so that the metal reacts with the semiconductor material of the body and forms a silicide.

Abstract: An electronic circuit drives a plurality of LED strings connected in series. The electronic circuit includes a regulation module corresponding to each LED string, with the regulation module connected to the cathode terminal of the corresponding LED string. Each regulation module is further coupled to receive a reference voltage in phase with a rectified a.c. voltage. The regulation modules execute in turn and in sequence a current-regulation phase as a function of a trend of the reference voltage. Each regulation module, when executing the current-regulation phase, functions to regulate the current that flows in the corresponding LED string and in any previous LED strings in the series connection so that the regulated current is proportional to the reference voltage.

Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a quadrilateral package with a first pair of opposed sides and a second pair of opposed sides. Both sides of the first pair of opposed sides are provided with electrical contact leads. Only one side of the second pair of opposed sides is provided with electrical contact leads.
