First and second magnetic layers of a magnetic head face each other. A toroidal coil layer having upper and lower layer coil pieces (ULCP and LLCP) is wound around one of the magnetic layers. The ULCP extend from a first insulating layer by downward steps to a top of a second insulating layer which is widened at ends of the first insulating layer. Side ends of the first insulating layer extend parallel to a height direction. The ULCP are orthogonal to the side ends. Each of the LLCP is formed on a third insulating layer and has a straight region extending in the same direction as the upper layer coil pieces and a curved region curved toward a facing surface or in a height direction on one end in the track width direction. An end of each of the straight and curved region is connected to an ULCP.
Abstract:
The invention provides novel SGP primers for improved use in waveform-profiling methods of DNA amplification. In one embodiment, use of an SGP primer in a method of DNA amplification results in exponential amplification of several distinct products. In another embodiment, the methods of the invention further comprise a novel half-time elongation step. In another embodiment, the distinct products may be detected via melting temperature analysis. The primers and methods of the invention may be combined to determine an organism in a sample.

The present invention achieves data relocation in accordance with a user's policies, in an environment where a plurality of storage devices are combined. The volumes belonging to storage devices A-D are managed virtually integrally. A host recognizes a plurality of storage devices A-D as a single virtual storage device. The user is able to group the volumes belonging to the storage system, as a plurality of storage layers 1-3. For example, storage layer 1 can be defined as a high-reliability layer, storage layer 2, as a low-cost layer, and storage layer 3, as an archive layer. Each storage layer is constituted by a group of volumes corresponding to respective policies (high reliability, low cost, archiving). The user designates volumes to be moved V1 and V2, in group units, and indicates a storage layer forming a movement destination, whereby the data is relocated.

The present invention provides a convenient and highly reliable joint device which contains a small number of components by simplifying the coupling structure, which is small-sized and can be manufactured at low cost, which is leak-proof under a wide range of conditions, regardless of the degree of internal pressure, and which does not contaminate the liquid inside the joint device. Concerning the liquid sending and receiving joint device of this invention for connecting a liquid reservoir 1, which contains the liquid, with a liquid acceptor 4 which receives the liquid from the liquid reservoir 1, an elastic member 3a or 3b having at least a hole 6 and a valve 11 with a flow path is provided at a joint part of either the liquid reservoir or the liquid acceptor, or both of them, wherein the valve 11 fits in or engages with the hole 6.

A wheel support bearing assembly for rotatably supporting a wheel 13 relative to a vehicle body structure 12 includes outer and inner members 1 and 2 with dual rows of rolling elements 3 interposed therebetween. An electric generator 4 for generating an electric power as one of the inner and outer members 1 and 2 rotates relative to the other of the inner and outer members 1 and 2 is utilized. The electric generator 4 includes a coil/magnetic element combination 17, including a ring member accommodating a coil therein, and a multi-pole magnet 18. A signal outputted from the electric generator 4 and indicative of the number of revolutions of the wheel 13 is transmitted wireless by a transmitter 5. This transmitter 5 may be an annular transmitter.

A printing system is provided suitable for reducing a printing time. A client apparatus acquires document data being edited during an editing operation by an application, creates print data for evaluation based on the acquired document data, selects a compression algorithm suitable for the created print data for evaluation from a compression algorithm registration database, compresses print data in accordance with the selected compression algorithm, and sends the compressed print data to a printer along with a print request. The creation of print data for evaluation and the selection of a compression algorithm start during an editing operation by the application. When the printer receives compressed print data along with a print request, the printer decompresses the received compressed print data and prints based on the decompressed print data.

An opening/closing system for vehicle can improve detection accuracy of rotation of an output member and enhance reliability of its operation. The opening/closing system for vehicle includes a drive unit having an electric motor and a reduction gear unit. A drum, which is an output member, is fixed to the output shaft of the drive unit through a power transmittable member. A magnet fixed to the outer periphery of a disk member is disposed between the drum and the gear case of the reduction gear unit in such a way that the magnet rotates along with the drum when the disk member is fixed to the power transmittable member. A housing case fixed to the gear case is provided with a sensor accommodating section that accommodates a magnetic sensor. The magnetic sensor is disposed to detect the rotation of the drum from a change in a magnetic field created by the magnet.
