    摘要: An interleaved delay line for use in phase locked and delay locked loops is comprised of a first portion providing a variable amount of delay substantially independently of process, temperature and voltage (PVT) variations while a second portion, in series with the first portion, provides a variable amount of delay that substantially tracks changes in process, temperature, and voltage variations. By combining, or interleaving, the two types of delay, single and dual locked loops constructed using the present invention achieve a desired jitter performance under PVT variations, dynamically track the delay variations of one coarse tap without a large number of delay taps, and provide for quick and tight locking. Methods of operating delay lines and locked loops are also disclosed.

    摘要: A synchronized mirror delay circuit is used to generate an internal clock signal from an external clock signal applied to the synchronized mirror delay. The internal clock signal is then coupled through a clock tree, and a feedback signal is generated that is indicative of the propagation delay of the internal clock signal through the clock tree. The feedback signal is applied to the synchronized mirror delay to allow the synchronized mirror delay to delay the internal clock signal by a delay interval that compensates for the propagation delay in the clock tree. A lock detector may be used to initially generate the internal clock signal directly from the external clock signal. A fine delay circuit that delays the internal clock signal in relatively fine increments may be used to couple the internal clock signal to the clock tree.

    摘要: Circuit and method for controlling circuitry in a power converter device during a soft-start process is provided. Synchronous rectifier control circuitry is adapted to gradually apply a gate drive signal derived from the main switch of the power converter device to a freewheeling synchronous rectifier of the switching circuitry during the soft-start process. The control circuitry gradually releases the amplitude or the pulse-width of the gate drive signal to the freewheeling synchronous rectifier to avoid a large duty ratio in the synchronous rectifier during start-up so that a negative current does not build up in the output inductor.
