摘要: Described are a method and system for providing enhanced caller information to a communications recipient. Enhanced caller information is determined from a caller information storage device associated with a caller attempting to establish a communications session with the communications recipient. The enhanced caller information is transmitted to the communications recipient and presented prior to the establishment of the communications session. The presentation can include the display of text, graphical information and audible information to the communications recipient. Optionally, the enhanced caller information includes data used to establish a communications link between the caller and the communications recipient.

摘要: An LED assembly includes a heat sink and a submount. The heat sink has a top mating surface that is solder wettable, and the submount has a bottom mating surface that is solder wettable. The top and the bottom mating surfaces have substantially the same shape and area. The submount is soldered atop the heat sink. During solder reflow, the molten solder causes the submount to align with the top mating surface of the heat sink. The LED assembly may further include a substrate having a top mating surface, and the heat sink may further include a bottom mating surface. The top and bottom mating surfaces have substantially the same shape and area. The heat sink is soldered atop the substrate. During solder reflow, the molten solder causes the heat sink to align with the top mating surface of the substrate.

摘要: Phage peptide display technology was used to identify peptides that bind specifically to the amyloid form of the Aβ1-40 peptide. Peptides with similar structural features and bind to the amyloid form of Aβ1-40 but not to monomeric Aβ1-40, are provided. Such peptides are useful as carrier molecules to deliver therapeutic and diagnostic reagents to amyloid plaques.

摘要: Provided herein are puzzles useful primarily by children, but also enjoyable by young adults and others. The puzzles of the invention permit a user to remove a piece of the puzzle from the overall construct, to reveal an image, the identity of which is customizable either by the user themselves, or by another person, which often may comprise a parent of the intended user. The images so revealed may thus be any image placed into the puzzle at the will of a person so capable, but are anticipated to often comprise images of the user's relations, including family members, famous persons, siblings and others. Additionally, geographical locations, images of outer space, images of famous persons, famous places, landmarks, pets, etc. are within the realm of potential images viewed. The instant puzzles are especially well suited to inspire learning in toddler-aged users, for stimulating cognizance of images, commensurate with provoking a physical response by the child. Although the present invention finds particular utility amongst enhancing the skills of special-needs children, it is well-suited to be enjoyed by children of all ages.

摘要: A multi-step process of converting hydrocarbon fuel to a substantially pure hydrogen gas feed includes a plurality of modules stacked end-to-end along a common axis. Each module includes a shell having an interior space defining a passageway for the flow of gas from a first end of the shell to a second end of the shell opposite the first end, and a processing core being contained within the interior space for effecting a chemical, thermal, or physical change to a gas stream passing axially through the module. The multi-step process includes: providing a fuel processor having a plurality of modules stacked end-to-end along a common axis; and feeding the hydrocarbon fuel successively through each of the modules in an axial direction through the tubular reactor to produce the hydrogen rich gas.

摘要: A methodology has been discovered for transforming garbage collection-dependent algorithms, shared object implementations and/or concurrent software mechanisms into a form that does not presume the existence of an independent, or execution environment provided, garbage collector. Algorithms, shared object implementations and/or mechanisms designed or transformed using techniques described herein provide explicit reclamation of storage using lock-free pointer operations. Transformations can be applied to lock-free algorithms and shared object implementations and preserve lock-freedom of such algorithms and implementations. As a result, existing and future lock-free algorithms and shared object implementations that depend on a garbage-collected execution environment can be exploited in environments that do not provide garbage collection. Furthermore, algorithms and shared object implementations that employ explicit reclamation of storage using lock-free pointer operations such as described herein may be employed in the implementation of a garbage collector itself.

摘要: A device includes a light emitting semiconductor device bonded to an optical element. In some embodiments, the optical element may be elongated or shaped to direct a portion of light emitted by the active region in a direction substantially perpendicular to a central axis of the semiconductor light emitting device and the optical element. In some embodiments, the semiconductor light emitting device and optical element are positioned in a reflector or adjacent to a light guide. The optical element may be bonded to the first semiconductor light emitting device by a bond at an interface disposed between the optical element and the semiconductor light emitting device. In some embodiments, the bond is substantially free of organic-based adhesives.
