    摘要: A process for forming metal oxides, including mixed metal oxides, in a dilute vapor phase at a temperature below approximately 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The resulting novel oxides can be formed as dense films or coatings with very high strain-to-crack values, or as nanoparticles, depending primarily upon the concentration of the reactants. The novel oxides are formed by the reaction in the vapor phase of reactive metal molecules with atomic oxygen. The reactions are instantaneous at room temperature, which permits this process to be applied to the formation of metal oxides on temperature sensitive substrates. The atomic oxygen and highly reactive metal containing molecules are generated by the application of an effective amount of ultraviolet radiation.

A suction line having a downwardly directed suction inlet is effective to vacuum airborne media and debris in said chamber and vacuum media and debris deposited on the bottom of said chamber below said suction inlet. A hopper, air jet and shaker means are provided to transport deposited media and debris toward the suction inlet. Breaker and partition means are provided to reduce back-streaming of debris into heat exchanger tubes.

A preferred embodiment of the invention provides an IP telephone that prepares a notification regarding the receipt of a voicemail message. In one embodiment, the IP telephone queries the availability of an instant messaging client via an instant messaging presence server, and forwards the notification to the instant messaging presence server if the instant messaging client is available. In another embodiment, the IP telephone sends the notification to a short message service client via a short message service gateway.     摘要: An improved disposable glucose test strip for use in a test meter of the type which receives a disposable test strip and a sample of blood from a patient and performs an electrochemical analysis is made using a non-conductive integrated reagent/blood separation layer containing a filler, an enzyme effective to oxidize glucose, e.g., glucose oxidase, and a mediator effective to transfer electrons from the enzyme. The integrated layer formulation is printed over a conductive carbon element to form a working electrode. The filler, for example a silica filler, is selected to have a balance of hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity such that one drying it forms a two-dimensional network on the surface of the conductive element. The response of this test strip is essentially temperature independent over relevant temperature ranges and is substantially insensitive to the hematocrit of the patient.

    摘要: In a process for the production of titanium dioxide by the vapour phase oxidation of titanium tetrachloride in which process entrained inert particulate material is passed through equipment used to reduce or prevent the deposition of solids thereon, the quantity of inert particulate material entrained may be affected by the varying back pressure normally obtaining in the equipment. The control of this quantity may be improved by reducing pressure differences (by means of conduit 39) between the inlet (40) and outlet (36) of a mechanical feeding device (29, 30) for the solids. This entails the transmission of the pressure (from the conduit 26) into the solids delivery system 25(17) and this may be alleviated, optionally, by maintaining a head of solids in the system and/or by using a system of pressurized hoppers. The invention enables the quantity of inert particulate material used to be reduced.
