Abstract:
A method for modelling pressure exposure and/or the risk of pressure ulcer formation includes steps of using pressure sensors to derive pressure exposure or risk values and displaying the pressure exposure or risk values in a graphical manner to a user. Computer-implemented systems includes a pressure-sensing interface mat and components for implementing the steps of the methods.
Abstract:
A memory device is disclosed including at least one surface pre-treated to roughen the surface for better adhesion of a curable fluid such as glue or ink on the surface. The surface of the memory device may be pre-treated by scoring lines in the surface with a laser or by forming discrete deformations with a particle blaster. The surface may also be roughened by providing a roughened pattern on a mold plate during an encapsulation process. In further examples, the surface may be chemically pre-treated to roughen the surface and/or increase the adhesion energy of the surface.
Abstract:
Biodegradable detergent compositions comprising 1,3-propanediol are provided, and the 1,3-propanediol in the composition is biologically derived. The compositions exhibit a lower anthropogenic CO2 emission profile. Also provided are biodegradable detergent compositions comprising an ester of 1,3-propanediol. In these compositions, the ester can have at least 3% biobased carbon.
Abstract:
Improved techniques to produce integrated circuit products are disclosed. The improved techniques permit smaller and less costly production of integrated circuit products. One aspect of the invention concerns covering test contacts (e.g., test pins) provided with the integrated circuit products using printed ink. Once covered with the ink, the test contacts are no longer electrically exposed. Hence, the integrated circuit products are not susceptible to accidental access or electrostatic discharge. Moreover, the integrated circuit products can be efficiently produced in a small form factor without any need for additional packaging or labels to electrically isolate the test contacts.
Abstract:
A first-aid treatment and resupply system comprising: a resupply bag having a plurality of resupply bag system connectors; a plurality of resupply containers removably attached to the interior of the resupply bag; a personal bag having a plurality of personal bag system connectors wherein the personal bag removably attached to the resupply bag using the resupply bag connectors and the personal bag connectors; a plurality of personal containers removably attached to the interior of the personal bag; a drop-down mount removably attached to the personal bag and having a leg strap attached to the drop-down mount; and an immediate response bag removably attached to the drop-down mount so that the resupply bag, personal bag, drop-down mount and immediate response are all attached as a system for transportation and are disconnected for deployment and use by responding personnel.
Abstract:
A system in an electronic securities market includes a configurable look-up table having assignment entries that assign each of a plurality of securities to one or more securities processors in the system. A configuration process allows administration of the assignment entries included in this configurable look-up table.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are deicing and anti-icing compositions comprising 1,3-propanediol, wherein the 1,3-propanediol in said deicing or anti-icing composition has a bio-based carbon content of about 1% to 100%. In addition, it is preferred that the 1,3-propanediol be biologically-derived, and wherein upon biodegradation, the biologically-derived 1,3-propanediol contributes no anthropogenic CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
Abstract:
In applications where data is transmitted in frames of symbols and the transmission medium is such that the probability of correct reception of symbols is, on the average, not uniform for different symbols in a frame, transmission of test frames enables creation of information about the different probabilities of correct reception, and that information is employed by the transmitter to control the manner in which symbols are transmitted so as to ameliorate the effects of the different probabilities of correct reception.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an alternative, cost-effective safety feature for on-board hydrogen storage containers incorporating a fill cycle sensor with a driver warning and shutdown system. The system monitors the number of times a hydrogen container is filled, and then takes action at a predetermined termination point. A controller monitors each time the hydrogen container is filled above 90% of the rated pressure or mass. Once the predetermined termination point of fill cycles is reached, the disclosed device/method will either disable the valve or refueling mechanism such that fuel supply to the vehicle is shutoff and the container cannot be filled again, essentially assuring the end of the life of the container.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of a generator system can be used with the working fluid in a Rankine cycle. For example, the generator system can be used in a Rankine cycle to recover heat from one of a number of commercial applications and to convert that heat energy into electrical energy. In particular embodiments, the generator system may include a turbine generator apparatus to generate electrical energy and a liquid separator arranged upstream of the turbine generator apparatus.
