摘要： A femoral knee prosthesis system for resurfacing a resected articular surface at the distal end of a femur includes a femoral component adapted to mate with the resected articular surface; and an attachment member. The interior surface of the femoral component is configured to connect to the first attachment member when the femoral component is mated on the resected articular surface of the femur and when the first attachment member is passed through the medial side or the lateral side of the resected articular surface. The femoral component is available in one-piece and two-piece systems. Mating femoral components (e.g., tapered or with lips that interlock with grooves) are also disclosed.

摘要： A prosthesis for the replacement of multiple diseased or traumatized spinal facets comprises a portion that replaces at least a bony portion of the facets to be replaced and where the prosthesis attaches to the vertebra in a manner that does not require attachment to, or abutment against, the lamina. Multiple configurations of the prosthesis provide for replacement of the two inferior facets, the two superior facets, a superior and inferior facet, or all four facets. A method of installing the prosthesis is provided that is comprised of the steps of resecting at least a portion of the facets that carry the diseased or traumatized spinal facets and attaching the prosthesis in a manner that does not require attachment or abutment against the lamina.

摘要： An integrated infusion and aspiration system includes of a flow control system and a catheter assembly. The catheter assembly includes an infusion catheter and an aspiration catheter, each having ports located at the distal end of thereof. The distal ends of the catheters are separated so that the aspiration catheter ports can be positioned on an opposing side of a surgical wound site from the infusion catheter ports. Methods of operation of the integrated infusion and aspiration system provides for uninterrupted aspiration with concurrent controlled delivery of an infusion solution such that the infusion solution is substantially evenly dispersed of over the wound site.

摘要： A bone fixator for a ligament anchor system and a process its use in an arthroscopic procedure for mounting a ligament graft end in a tunnel formed into a bone. The bone fixator includes threaded footing member for mounting in a bone tunnel, that includes a longitudinal opening formed therethrough, and a ligament carrying member that has a forward of proximal portion for fitting through the threaded footing member longitudinal opening and including a coupling arrangement for securing the ligament carrying member in the threaded footing member. The ligament carrying member further includes as a rear or distal portion that incorporates a ligament mounting section, that, in one embodiment, is an eyelet section to receive a ligament graft fitted therethrough and folded upon itself and in another embodiment is a flat section having a center longitudinal axis wherefrom at least one and preferably a pair of spaced apart pointed posts extend at essentially right angles that include serrations or downwardly sloping teeth formed along at least one side of each post, the post or posts for passing through transverse holes formed in an end of a ligament graft, such as a bone end of a bone tendon ligament graft, with the ligament graft bone end urged onto the mounting plate posts axially mounting it thereto. The ligament carrying member with axially mounted ligament graft are guided in the bone tunnel and into the footing longitudinal opening, with the ligament carrying member to lock therein, completing the ligament graft end mounting in the bone tunnel. With, after the ligament graft is placed under tension and the opposite graft end secured to the tibia cortex, should an adjustment of ligament graft tension be desirable, the footing member is turned appropriately in the bone tunnel.

摘要： There is presented a suture anchor comprising a head portion and a connector portion. The head portion includes a pointed free end, a cutting flute extending substantially throughout the length of the head portion, and screw threads extending substantially throughout the length of the head portion. The connector portion extends axially from the head portion for releasable connection to an anchor inserter. The connector portion is provided with structure for attachment of a suture thereto. There is further presented a suture anchor inserter for use in combination with the suture anchor in attachment of the anchor to a bone, and a suture anchor length of suture material. There is still further presented a method for anchoring a length of suture to a bone.

摘要： A driver instrument with dual holding features for use with a combination of a medical staple and movable washer with that are used in a surgical procedure for attaching a ligament, or the like, onto a bone surface. The driver includes a straight body that is preferably cylindrical, is formed of a hard metal and includes a hand engaging central portion. A driver top end is flanged outwardly into flat head end that can be struck, as with a hammer to impart a hammer force therethrough, with the driver lower end portion formed with a threaded portion for turning into a threaded hole formed through a web of the medical staple, and with a spring collet formed with, or connected axially to, the driver lower end portion. Installation of the medical staple and washer onto the driver involves passing the spring collect through the staple web hole ahead of the driver threaded portion, and through a smooth walled hole formed through the movable washer, with a spring collet ring end passing through the washer hole and restricting removal therefrom. The driver that mounts the medical staple and movable washer, is held by a surgeon to position the staple legs onto a bone surface, straddling a ligament, and then is used to seat the staple into which bone by applying a hammer force to the driver head end. Whereafter, the driver threaded portion is turned out of the staple web threaded hole, pulling also the driver spring collet section out of the washer hole.

摘要： A pin is provided for securing a replacement ligament inside a tunnel of a receptor bone. The pin includes a body portion having a threaded section for engaging the receptor bone to anchor the pin in the receptor bone. The body portion also includes a tapered shank located adjacent the threaded portion. The tapered shank is configured to enter a drilled hole having a predetermined diameter formed in the replacement ligament to force the replacement ligament against the wall of the tunnel. The tapered shank has a first diameter at a first end of the tapered shank opposite the threaded portion which is smaller than the predetermined diameter of the drilled hole and a second diameter adjacent the threaded portion which is larger than the predetermined diameter so that the tapered shank engages the replacement ligament in the tunnel as the pin is inserted through the drilled hole in the replacement ligament to force the replacement ligament against a side wall of the tunnel to promote healing of the replacement ligament within the receptor bone. The pin further includes a head coupled to an end of the body portion adjacent the threaded section for driving the pin into the receptor bone.
