    摘要: A configurable electronic work slate unit includes a customizable array of data devices and input/output devices which are selectively integrated in a compact and highly ergonomic structure. Increased operator productivity is accomplished by use of several possible user interface media including a multi-function display and input/output unit including a digitizer, position sensitive screen, and video display panel. Selectively integratable user interface components include a bar code scanner, RF modulator for radio frequency communication, modem, audio input/output, as well as the multi-purpose display. All components are integrated by use of a handle unit or module docking assembly which can house a battery as well as removable modules in a manner so as to minimize operator fatigue and discomfort, as well as enhance productivity. Configuration, reconfiguration and updating of work slate units by choice and selection of removable modules, from a variety of different types of modules, is enhanced by utilization of standardized interfaces which are intercoupled to a common signal bus. The bus configuration in combination with a bus controller functions as an intelligent bus capable of identifying types of removable modules and configuring communication protocols for operation with different types of removable modules.

    摘要: A system for representing and recognizing data in machine readable graphic image form in which data to be encoded is entered into the system and a processor encodes the data into a two-dimensional bar code symbol and generates transfer drive signals representative of the symbol. A transferring device such as a printer transfers an image of the two-dimensional bar code symbol onto a carrier such as a card or paper document in response to the transfer drive signals. A recognition device converts the image on the carrier into electrical signals representative of the symbol by scanning the image. A low-level decoder decodes the signals by decoding each scan line into a vector of codeword values corresponding to the codewords in the two-dimensional bar code symbol, assigning a row number to each of the codeword values, and then filling in a two-dimensional matrix with the codeword values. A high-level decoder further decodes the codeword values into data which can then be output for processing or use.

    摘要: An encoded information reading (EIR) terminal can comprise a microprocessor, a memory, an (EIR) device, and a wireless communication interface. The EIR device can be provided by a bar code reading device, an RFID reading device, and/or a card reading device. The EIR device can be configured to perform outputting raw message data containing an encoded message and/or outputting decoded message data corresponding to an encoded message. The wireless communication interface can comprise a radio frequency front end configured to perform receiving a first radio signal and/or transmitting a second radio signal. The radio frequency front end can be electrically coupled to an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) which can be electrically coupled to the system bus and/or to a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) which can be electrically coupled to the system bus. The microprocessor can be configured to execute a base-band encoder software program and/or a base-band decoder software program.
