摘要: A tube-to-header sealing system for a heat exchanger comprises a pair of mating header plates, each header plate having a wall with a plurality of openings therein and including a continuous depression along the circumference of each header plate opening which forms one-half of an O-ring groove. Each of a plurality of O-rings is positioned in each O-ring groove and the header plates are secured together such that the header plate plurality of openings are aligned and trap each of the plurality of O-rings in O-ring grooves. A plurality of spaced-apart tubes each having a tube end secured in an opening in the wall of the header to form a tube-to-header joint are expanded outwardly to provide sufficient O-ring deformation to obtain a seal. In service, the resiliency of the O-ring seal allows for expansion and contraction of the tubes without the build-up of high stresses at the tube-to-header joint.

摘要: A heat transfer tube fixing apparatus of a heat transfer tube expansion apparatus has grasping sections and a moving section. The grasping sections grasp one axial direction end sections of a plurality of heat transfer tubes in a state where the heat transfer tubes are inserted in a plurality of heat transfer fins. The moving section switches between a first state of covering the surroundings of the grasping sections and a second state of not covering the surroundings of the grasping sections by moving in the axial direction of the heat transfer tubes. The grasping sections fix the heat transfer tubes so as not to move in the axial direction and the heat transfer fins and the heat transfer tubes are fixed by the heat transfer tubes expanding in a state where the moving section is in the first state.

摘要: A reactor core for use in a chemical reactor includes first and second reactor core sections. Each core section includes heat transfer fluid conduits extending through the core section in a first direction, the lengths of the conduits defining a core section width. Each core section further includes spaced apart parallel plates arranged into a plate stack, with the conduits extending through the stack. Surfaces of the plates have a catalyst coating applied to them. The plates are rectangular and define a core section depth and a core section length, the core section depth being substantially smaller than both the core section width and length. Channels are defined by the spaces between adjacent plates, and are open to flow through the reactor core section in both the core section depth and length directions. The first core section is adjacent to the second core section in the depth direction.
