Abstract:
A monitoring system is disclosed. The monitoring system comprises: a nozzle steam trap (3) including a supply portion (10) into which water vapor is supplied, and a discharge portion (11) which discharges liquid water contained in the water vapor; a temperature measurer (20) that measures a temperature of the discharge portion; a transmitter (24) that transmits temperature information containing the temperature measured by the temperature measurer; a receiver (7) that receives the temperature information; a determiner (8) that determines whether an abnormality is present in the nozzle steam trap based on the temperature information; and a notifier (9) that issues a notice when the determiner determines that the abnormality is present. A first discharge-side reference temperature lower than the boiling point of the water and a second discharge-side reference temperature higher than the boiling point of the water are set for the discharge portion. The determiner determines that the abnormality is present when the temperature of the discharge portion contained in the temperature information is lower than the first discharge-side reference temperature or higher than the second discharge-side reference temperature.
Abstract:
An infrared thermometer measures a temperature of an energy zone. The infrared thermometer comprises a beam splitter for splitting an incident light beam from an energy zone into an infrared light beam and a visible light beam; an infrared detector for detecting the infrared light beam and generating a signal indicative of a temperature of the energy zone according to the detected infrared light beam; and a sighting device having an optical module for generating a reflective reticle image and transmitting the visible light beam to generate a target image at a sight window, wherein the sighting device is configured to superimpose the reflective reticle image over the target image at the sight window to align the infrared detector with the energy zone. The infrared thermometer and an associated measurement method facilitate the alignment of the energy zone by the users, thereby improving the accuracy of the measurement.

Abstract:
A sensor assembly for a flame sensor apparatus includes a photodiode that generates a current. The sensor assembly includes a seal assembly supporting the photodiode. The seal assembly includes an inner conductor defining an inner conductor end. The inner conductor includes an inner conductor surface disposed at the inner conductor end. The photodiode is attached to the inner conductor end of the inner conductor and to a middle conductor end of a middle conductor. The photodiode is electrically connected to the inner conductor surface. The seal assembly is triaxial so as to protect the current generated by the photodiode. The seal assembly withstands temperatures up to or greater than about 325° C. The seal assembly forms a hermetic barrier that, with the photodiode supported within a sealed volume, limits the passage of materials/gases through the seal assembly.

Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting electromagnetic radiation within a target frequency range is provided. The apparatus includes a substrate and one or more resonator structures disposed on the substrate. The substrate can be a dielectric or semiconductor material. Each of the one or more resonator structures has at least one dimension that is less than the wavelength of target electromagnetic radiation within the target frequency range, and each of the resonator structures includes at least two conductive structures separated by a spacing. Charge carriers are induced in the substrate near the spacing when the resonator structures are exposed to the target electromagnetic radiation. A measure of the change in conductivity of the substrate due to the induced charge carriers provides an indication of the presence of the target electromagnetic radiation.
