Abstract:
A fare device having modular architecture includes a display module that controls inputs and outputs of a display of the device, a fare media reader module that sends and receives data from a fare media and processes fare transactions conducted using the fare media as payment, and an external communications module that communicates external data with one or more remote devices. A controller controls operation of the modules. A carrier board includes one or more mountings with which to communicatively couple each respective module with the at least one controller and a common communications interface coupled between the one or more mountings and the at least one controller such that each of the modules is communicatively coupled with the at least one controller. The interface includes a single communications protocol and each module has a translation element that translates a native communications protocol of a corresponding module to protocol.
Abstract:
A mobile terminal is disclosed, by which a display and a case can be uniformly attached to each other with a reinforced adhesive strength. The present invention includes a case, a display unit installed on the case, a seating part provided to the case, the seating part configured to support the display unit, and a channel provided to the seating part, the channel configured to receive an adhesive for coupling the display unit and the case together. The channel includes a bottom portion, a first wall surface extending from the bottom portion and a second wall surface extending from the bottom portion. The second wall surface is disposed closer to a center of the case than the first wall surface. And, the second wall surface tilts at a prescribed angle toward the center of the case.
Abstract:
A first antenna (31) is disposed closer to a rear touch panel (4) than to a display panel (2a) in the front-rear direction of a housing (20). The first antenna (31) is disposed so as to be offset with respect to the rear touch panel (4) in a direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction of the housing (20) so that at least a part of the first antenna (31) does not overlap the rear touch panel (4) in the front-rear direction of the housing (20). With such a structure, the display panel and touch panel are provided at the front surface and rear surface, respectively, and good reception sensitivity can be obtained.
Abstract:
A portable computer includes a first housing having a first wall defining a first opening and a surface surrounding the opening and having an inside periphery. A first component is removably received within the opening and defines a body with an outer periphery that is inset with respect to the inner periphery of the opening. A first locking member is removably attached within the opening. The first locking member defines an outer periphery extending along the inner periphery of the first opening of the housing. The first locking member also defines a second opening having an inner periphery that is inset with respect to the outer periphery of the first component body such that a portion of the first locking member overlies a first portion of the first component body. A second portion of the first component is exposed within the opening of the first locking member.
Abstract:
This application relates to methods and apparatus relating to an adhesive bond that includes an integrated release mechanism. The adhesive bond can secure components in a portable electronic device, such as a battery, to the housing of the portable electronic device. The release mechanism can be embodied as a thin layer of polymeric material sandwiched between a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer. The first and second adhesive layers are joined to one another by a number of pillars that extend through openings in the release mechanism. A portion of the release mechanism can protrude from the adhesive bond allowing a technician or user to pull the release mechanism out of the adhesive bond, which severs the pillars that hold the adhesive layers together. In this way, the release mechanism allows for efficient separation of the adhesively secured components.
Abstract:
An electronic device may have printed circuits to which electrical components are mounted. The printed circuits may have metal traces that form signal lines and contact pads. Vias or other conductive structures may he used in interconnecting the signal lines to the contact pads. The contact pads may have elongated shapes or other shapes and may he formed in arrays on the printed circuits. Laser welds or other electrical connections may be used to join contact pads on a first printed circuit to respective contact pads on a second printed circuit. The laser welds may form part of a rectangular region of welds or may form part of a non-rectangular region of welds such as a region with a curved edge. Alignment marks may be used in aligning the contact pads.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus includes a replaceable device, an apparatus casing, a supporting structure, an abutting structure, and a removable carrier. The supporting structure, the abutting structure, and the removable carrier function as an installation mechanism for installing the replaceable device into the apparatus casing. The supporting structure and the abutting structure are disposed in the apparatus casing. The abutting structure has two side walls oppositely disposed. The removable carrier includes a fixing frame and an actuation part pivotally connected to the fixing frame. The replaceable device is fixed on the fixing frame. When the removable carrier is disposed on the supporting structure, the actuation part can be rotated relative to the fixing frame and alternatively abut against one side wall so that the fixing frame moves on the supporting structure and a connector of the replaceable device is engaged with or disengaged from a connector of the electronic apparatus respectively.
