摘要: The invention provides a noncontact measuring system for electrical conductivity, which uses a microwave. In the measuring system for electrical conductivity, the microwave generated in a network analyzer (NA) 110 is guided to a surface of a silicon wafer (sample) 160 through a waveguide 130 and a sensor 140. The surface of the silicon wafer 160 is irradiated with the microwave, and the sensor 140 receives the reflected microwave. The electrical conductivity of the silicon wafer 160 is measured in such a manner that a computer (personal computer) 120 calculates the electrical conductivity from an amplitude ratio A and phase difference θ to a reflected wave of the silicon wafer 160, which is determined with the network analyzer 110. The computer 120 performs not only the calculation of the measurement but also whole control of the measuring system such as positioning of the sample.

摘要: A high temperature secondary battery based energy storage and power compensation system wherein, an electric power supply system, electric load, and electric energy storage system including a high temperature secondary battery and power conversion system, are electrically connected with one another. When operating normally, electric power is supplied from the electric power supply system to the electric load, while the electric energy storage system operates to effect peak shaving and load leveling. A high speed switch is provided between the electric power supply system and the electric energy storage system, so that when a voltage sag or service interruption occurs while electric power is being supplied from the electric power supply system, the voltage sag is immediately detected and the switch is immediately opened, and electric power is immediately supplied from the electric energy storage system to the electric load to compensate for the voltage sag or service interruption.

摘要: A system for controlling a series hybrid vehicle, having an internal combustion engine whose output is regulated by a throttle valve, a generator-motor connected to the engine to be rotated by the engine, an electric energy storage means connected to the first generator-motor to be charged by the first generator-motor, and a second generator-motor connected to at least one of the first generator-motor and the electric energy storage means to input an output of at least one of the first generator-motor and the electric energy storage means to drive wheels of the vehicle to propel the vehicle. In the system, a desired engine speed is determined to minimize fuel consumption, and a desired power generation amount of the first generator-motor is determined based on a determined desired power generation base value and the desired engine speed. Then, the throttle opening is controlled to achieve the desired power generation amount, thereby optimizing fuel consumption, while rapidly converging the engine speed on the desired value, without stalling the internal combustion engine.

摘要: A focus control apparatus for a multilayer optical recording medium which performs an appropriate focus jump on a multilayer optical recording medium. This focus control apparatus implements such focus jump control as to temporarily release a focus servo on one layer of a loaded multilayer optical recording medium, shift the focus position of read light on another target layer and then restart the focus servo on the another target layer, detects an ambient temperature, sets a drive signal condition according to the temperature detection output, and moves the focus position of the read light under the set drive signal condition. Specifically, this apparatus generates an acceleration signal to start moving the focus position of read light and a deceleration signal to decelerate movement of the focus position of the read light, as drive signals for a focus actuator in order to execute a focus jump operation, detects an ambient temperature of the focus actuator, and sets signal conditions for the acceleration signal and the deceleration signal according to the detected temperature.

摘要: A machining fluid processing apparatus for an electric discharge machine capable of easily exchanging a filter for a new one. A filter is horizontally supported on a support table in a tray which is provided over a machining fluid tank. The contaminated machining fluid is supplied from the contaminated machining fluid tank to an attachment pipe in the filter by a pump. The contaminated machining fluid passes through the filter while machining dust is removed from the machining fluid. The clean machining fluid is then returned to the clean machining fluid tank. The exchanging of the filter is performed by removing a nut and a seal washer, detaching the used filter from the attachment pipe and attaching a new filter thereon. Since the filter is not submerged in the machining fluid and is drawn out horizontally along the support table, the filter exchange is made easy.

摘要: The target follow-up device of the present invention is adapted quickly and reliably to follow up the position of a target which is moving at high speed. It incorporates an imaging sensor having a number of imaging elements, which performs photometry over the photographic field and which outputs input image data. Based upon this imaging sensor output, input image data for the target to be followed up are stored as reference image data by a memory device. Based upon minimum residue calculation between the input image data and the reference image data, the target follow-up device of the present invention determines the position of the target. In this determination operation, the target follow-up device selects at least one color from a plurality of colors contained in common by the input image data and the reference image data, and calculates the minimum residue for the selected color component.

摘要: An operation mode is first selected in which tunes recorded in a digital audio disk are sequentially reproduced. Reproduction-undesired tunes are selected by operating a manipulator for stopping reproduction of a currently reproduced tune and starting the next tune during every reproduction of the reproduction-undesired tunes so that their numbers are stored in a memory. In subsequent reproductions, the number of each tune going to be reproduced is compared with the numbers of the reproduction-undesired tunes stored in the memory and the tune is skipped if its number is included in the stored numbers.
