Abstract: A plurality of IDT electrodes 2 to 7 each having a large number of electrode fingers extending in a direction perpendicular to a propagation direction of a surface acoustic wave propagating on a piezoelectric substrate 1 are arranged on the piezoelectric substrate 1 along the propagation direction, and each of the two adjacent IDT electrodes out of the plurality of IDT electrodes 2 to 7 comprises a variable pitch section and a fixed pitch section. The electrode finger pitch in the variable pitch section gradually decreases toward the boundary between the two adjacent IDT electrodes, and the minimum electrode finger pitch portion in the two variable pitch sections is on one side spaced apart from the boundary. There can be provided a surface acoustic wave apparatus having a large pass bandwidth, having a low insertion loss, and having improved flatness in a pass band.

Abstract: A toner for developing electrostatic images, comprising a binder resin and a colorant, the binder resin including a crystalline polyester resin and an amorphous resin. When, in differential scanning calorimetry of the toner according to ASTM D3418-8, the temperature of the endothermic peak derived from the crystalline polyester resin in a first heating process is defined as Tm1 (° C.), the endothermic quantity based on the endothermic peak in the first heating process is defined as ΔH1 (mW/g), and the endothermic quantity based on the endothermic peak in a second heating process is defined as ΔH2 (mW/g), Tm1 is 50 to 80° C, and ΔH1 and ΔH2 satisfy the relationship represented by the following Formula (1). When the softening temperature of the toner is defined as Tf1/2 (° C.), Tf1/2 is 85 to 135° C. Tm1 and Tf1/2 satisfy the relationship represented by the following Formula (2): 0.35≦ΔH2/ΔH1≦0.95  Formula (1) Tf1/2≦205−(1.4×Tm1)  Formula (2).

Abstract: A first seal member is formed integrally on both surfaces of a first metal plate. The first seal member is integrally formed on a cooling surface of the first metal plate, except a region corresponding to a reaction surface facing an electrode reaction surface, and except regions of inlet buffers and outlet buffers. The first seal member has an expansion. The position of an end surface of the expansion substantially matches the position of a wall surface of the outermost groove of a coolant flow field to prevent the flow of a coolant around the electrode reaction surface.

Abstract: There is disclosed a method of fixedly mounting a graded-index rod lens to a holder easily with high reliability without requiring machining of one end face of the rod lens which is difficult to achieve if the lens has a small diameter. The present invention also offers an optical component having the graded-index rod lens inserted and fixed in a through hole formed in the holder. A part of the through hole on the side of one end face of the rod lens is formed as a tapering hole. A transparent member is molded so as to be tightly fitted with the holder such that the whole end face of the lens and at least a part of the inner surface of the tapering hole are covered with the transparent member. A part of the surface of the transparent member is shaped spherically or aspherically to form a molded lens.
