摘要: A liquid ejection head can eject very fine droplets on the order of sub-picoliters. The liquid ejection head is provided with an ejection port for ejecting liquid as liquid droplets and comprises an energy generating element arranged vis-à-vis the ejection port to generate ejection energy to be applied to the liquid. No head-constituting member exists in the space formed by translating the area of the energy generating element toward the ejection port. The meniscus surface of the ejection port receives impact energy from the energy generating element. With this arrangement, droplets of the liquid are ejected from the central part of the meniscus surface having an area smaller than the meniscus surface so that they break the meniscus section at or near the central part thereof.

摘要: A portable terminal carried and owned by each user is provided with a display screen, a communication unit, a memory storing personal information about each user, and an input/output device such as an inhaler. A database that communicates with each portable terminal is provided with a personal information storage unit storing the personal information about each user carrying the portable terminal, a medical information storage unit storing information about a medical facility, a drugstore, a medicine, and the input/output device, and a communication unit for communicating with each portable terminal. In the database, the user of the portable terminal is identified by collating the part of the information transmitted from the communication unit with information stored in the personal information storage unit. When a specific signal is transmitted from the communication unit, communication is performed with a medical facility while information, of the information stored in the medicine information storage unit, which is necessary for the user is provided for the portable terminal as an emergency measure. This makes it possible to properly and quickly handle an emergency.

摘要: Disclosed is an apparatus for measuring an activity of autonomic nerve, comprising: a sympathetic nerve activity measuring unit; a parasympathetic nerve activity measuring unit; a memory unit; and an evaluation unit. According to the present invention the sympathetic nerve activity measuring unit measures an activity of the sympathetic nerve and the parasympathetic nerve activity measuring unit measures an activity of the parasympathetic nerve antagonistically functioning with the sympathetic nerve. The memory unit stores reference data acting as the criterion for comparing with relation between psychosomatic conditions based on the activity of the sympathetic nerve and the activity of the parasympathetic nerve. The evaluation unit compares measurement data representing the activity of the sympathetic nerve measured by said sympathetic nerve activity measuring unit and the activity of the parasympathetic nerve measured by said parasympathetic nerve activity measuring unit with said reference data stored in said memory unit for evaluating the relation between psychosomatic conditions.

The alumina short fibers in the alumina fiber aggregate are enlarged in diameter to suppress scattering of the fibers.

摘要: A work cutting apparatus comprises a plurality of cutting blades each including a metal plate phase containing a super hard abrasive grain dispersed entirely thereon. A work made of a rare-earth alloy magnet member is submerged in a coolant in a container. The work submerged in the coolant is cut by rotating the cutting blades at a high speed not slower than 8000 rpm and by moving the cutting blades to the work vertically or along a normal line passing a tangential point between the cutting blade and the work. The coolant may be supplied from a hose to a cutting region at a time of the cutting. At the time of cutting, the work is vibrated in a direction parallel to a main surface of the cutting blade and perpendicular to a direction of the cutting. Preferably, the cutting blade has a tip portion formed with a cutout, and a spacer including two main surfaces each having an outer circumferential portion formed with an annular stepped portion is inserted between the cutting blades.

摘要: A liquid ejection head cartridge includes a liquid ejecting head and a liquid container. The liquid ejection head includes an ejection outlet, a bubble generation region, and a movable member disposed faced to the bubble generation region and displaceable between a first position and a second position further from the bubble generation region than the first position. The movable member moves from the first to the second position by pressure produced by the generation of a bubble to permit expansion of the bubble more in a downstream side closer to the ejection outlet. The liquid container includes a substantially prism-like outer wall provided with a substantial air vent portion and having a corner, and an inner wall having a prism-like shape with outer surfaces substantially equivalent to inside surfaces of the outer wall and having a corner portion corresponding to the corner of the outer wall, the inner wall being separable from the outer wall and defining a liquid accommodating portion for containing liquid, the inner wall further having a liquid supply portion for supplying the liquid out of the liquid accommodating portion to the liquid ejection head. The inner wall has a thickness which is smaller in the corner portion than a thickness of a central portion of the outer surfaces of the inner wall.

摘要: A loader conveys a holder, carrying thereon a disc cartridge, between a cartridge ejection position and a reproducing/recording position. The loader has an engaging part which engages with a lock mechanism so as to release a holder pin in the lock mechanism from its locked condition in order to hold a movable chassis in a floating condition and to lock the holding pin in the lock mechanism so as to fix the movable chassis to the stationary chassis when the holder comes to the cartridge ejecting side. When the holder is moved to the reproducing/recording position, the holding pin provided on the holder engages with a shutter closing spring so as to retract an engaging part at the front end of the shutter closing spring through an opening in the holder in order to prevent the disc cartridge from making contact with the shutter closing spring, thereby making it possible to give a satisfactory feeling of insertion of the disc cartridge and avoid damaging the disc cartridge.
