摘要: Methods for forming a TPE-skinned composite include forming a skin layer having at least one surface and having a thermoplastic elastomer and an adhesive promoting agent; providing a foam layer; and forming the foam layer onto the said surface of the skin layer to form the TPE-skinned composite. Optional additives such as an organo-silane compound may be added to further improve the adhesion between the skin layer and the foam. The present disclosure also provides a TPE-skinned composite including a skin layer having a thermoplastic elastomer present in an amount of greater than 90 wt. %; and an adhesive promoting agent present in an amount of from 0.5 wt. % to 10 wt. % based upon the total weight of the skin layer.

摘要: Provided herein is a composition containing a hydrogenated blend of a semi-crystalline, selectively hydrogenated block copolymer, a selectively diblock copolymers lacking semi-crystalline blocks, and a low polarity fluid for cable filling applications. The block copolymer comprises blocks of semi-crystalline hydrogenated polybutadiene, blocks of poly(mono alkenyl arenes), and blocks of hydrogenated, non-crystalline conjugated dienes. The diblock copolymer comprises blocks of poly(mono alkenyl arenes) and blocks of non-crystalline poly(conjugated diene(s)). The compositions can be converted to non-flowable gels and find application as fillers for cables such as fiber optic cables.

摘要: A gel composition is herein disclosed. According to one embodiment, the composition comprises a (i) a styrenic block copolymer, (ii) an oil; and (iii) optional additives; wherein the styrenic block copolymer comprises: a diblock polymer having a monoalkenyl arene block, designated A, a conjugated diene block, designated B, an isoprene attachment, designated i, and wherein the styrenic block copolymer can have structure ABi or iAB; the isoprene attachment i is substantially unsaturated and the conjugated diene block B is substantially saturated. The gel composition before curing exhibits thixotropic behavior, and the gel composition after curing is either solid or has a viscosity at 25° C. at a shear rate of 20 s−1 of at least 30000 mPa·s.

摘要: The invention concerns an olefinically unsaturated radial styrenic block copolymer having the general formula A-B—Y—(B-A)n wherein each A is independently a polymer block composed of at least 90 mol. % of an alkenyl aromatic hydrocarbon, each B is independently a polymer block composed of at least 90 mol. % of one or more conjugated dienes, Y is the remnant of a coupling agent, and n is an integer from 2 to 5. The invention is also an improved vulcanizer-free latex comprising water and the olefinically unsaturated radial styrenic block copolymer. Moreover, the invention concerns a process for preparing articles by coagulation dipping from the improved latex and dipped goods made from such latex.

摘要: The present invention relates to advanced flame/fire retardant compositions for fabric, upholstery, carpet, barrier, automotive, building construction, communication, and consumer electronics applications. The flame retardant composition comprises: about 5-25 wt. % hydrogenated styrenic block copolymer, about 6-40 wt. % polyolefin, about 50-80 wt. % inorganic flame retardant, about 0-5 wt. % coating, about 0-5 wt. % functionalized styrenic block copolymer, about 0-7 wt. % agri-derived heat resistant liquid, about 0.05-1.0 wt. % antioxidant, and about 0-7 wt. % optional additives such as metal deactivator, colorant, filler, and/or lubricants, wherein said composition totals 100 wt. %. An article made from the flame retardant composition, such as film, fiber, cable, and wire insulation meets various European and U.S. standards. The flame retardant compositions possess a good balance of tensile strength, elongation, flame resistance, and processability that has previously been unobtainable.

摘要: Selectively hydrogenated block copolymers having semi-crystalline blocks hard blocks and copolymer soft blocks having a combination of excellent physical properties and solvent resistance have been discovered. The block copolymer comprises at least one A block of hydrogenated, polymerized 1,3-butadiene and at least one B block which is a random copolymer or a controlled distribution copolymer of conjugated diene and mono vinyl aromatic monomers in which the conjugated diene monomer units are selectively hydrogenated. Polar functionalized block embodiments of the block copolymers are also disclosed. Compositions comprising the block copolymer and articles made from the block copolymer have also been discovered. A method is disclosed which provides highly isotropic, high strength melt cast films of block copolymers.

摘要: The invention relates to unique applications for the novel high melt flow, low viscosity, selectively hydrogenated styrene-butadiene-styrene (hSBS) or selectively hydrogenated controlled distribution styrene-butadiene/styrene-styrene (hSBSS) block copolymers, wherein the melt flow rate of said block copolymer is at least 100 g/10 min. at 230° C. under 2.16 kg mass according to ASTM D1238. These block copolymers are novel and have the highest melt flow rate of any styrenic block copolymer also possessing high strength and elasticity. It has applications that prior to the present invention were not normally possible due to the normal low melt flow rate of styrenic block copolymers. The present invention also encompasses various fields of use such as a fiberglass hSBS or hSBSS reinforced mat, low viscosity hSBS or hSBSS coatings for industrial uses, hot melt adhesives prepared from hSBS or hSBSS blended with polyalpha-olefins, and elastic film, fiber, and nonwoven constructions using hSBS or hSBSS.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a solid curable transparent rubber composition containing one or more synthetic isoprene polymer, one or more transparent polymer, one or more curing agent, additives that do not influence transparency and one or more polyalkenamers. The solid curable transparent rubber composition, once cured, has a haze of less than 30% and a total light transmission of more than 80%. The disclosure further provides a cured transparent rubber composition made thereof, and a manufacturing process for the cured composition. The present disclosure also provides an article including the rubber composition, in particular shoes with transparent soles.
